News Flash: Black Folks STILL All Look Alike!
http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/week_2007_06_24.php#014816

"ABC apes Fox ...

ABC News has apologized for mistakenly running a picture of former Washington Mayor Marion Barry when it was promoting a "World News" story about a man suing a dry cleaner for $54 million for losing his pants. Both Roy L. Pearson, who filed the lawsuit, and Barry are black. Barry's picture ran for East Coast feeds Tuesday when Pearson's story was "teased" at the beginning of the news. It was corrected for later editions, spokeswoman Natalie Raabe said.

The mistake happened because both men happened to be in a Washington court that day and ABC got video of both, Raabe said. Barry was acquitted this week of drunken driving charges."

13. I did too - I just didn't want to litter the thread with my comments - seems like cheating somehow.

10. Yep. Right. You don't get a sun tan, either.
:eyes: I guess that's because you can't swim. After all, everyone knows black folks can't float.

These are just SOME of the (jaw-droppingly) STUPIDEST things I've actually been told ... in all seriesness.

Some of the rare times I've actually been speechless were the first times I've heard such crap.

FWIW, m'luv ... I'd NEVER not recognize you! :loveya: :pals: I have a good eye for real beauty.

6. Aren't they color-coded?
My father and mother like using the old-fashioned term "colored people" to which I always retort "Which color?"

Sigh. When I got married our best man and maid of honor were our best friends who just happened to be "colored." When I sent the wedding photo to my parents they had to fold it so that all the color was drained from the picture. Their excuse? "The picture frame was too small."

This sort of shit won't end until all the racists die off. Too bad they're breeding and training up new ones....

9. And that's permitted by the "good whites" who insist that racists are just a few bad apples...
... thus actively helping it get generationally passed down.

16. Here's a question.
Has anybody heard of counter research to this claim (I read it back when I got Science News, but a Google search works fine)?

http://www.apa.org/releases/facerecog.html

I found an article that claims to support the Kent State guy, but haven't seen any contradicting it (nor am I claiming that Fox's mistake was a case of this, simple bumbling, or anything else--it just means that what's usually decried as racism is sometimes something else):
