So where are the CIA "family jewels?"
For days I've been hearing about how the CIA is going to reveal all their early secrets this week. This morning, the morning shows were breathlessly reporting that the CIA was unveiling their "family jewels" today.

Then silence.

What happened?

1. Seems to have been removed - Here's a cached link
that did go to the documents - but now all I get are a bunch of x's and under the CIA FOIA search, "Family Jewels" no longer comes up

http://www.foia.cia.gov/browse_docs_full.asp?doc_no=0001449245&title=%22FAMILY+JEWELS%22&abstract=&no_pages=0702&pub_date=5%2F16%2F1973&release_date=6%2F18%2F2007&keywords=FAMILY+JEWELS&case_no=F%2D1992%2D00353©right=0&release_dec=RIPPUB&classification=U&showPage=0001

Give the link a minute - it will load.

If you get anything other than x's - say like the actual documents, please let me know.

4. There's an actual link?
I was waiting for something to come up here or on the news. I didn't know there was an actual Internet link although, if it's not working, it doesn't matter. The news is weird--they've gone from being all excited about CIA secrets this morning, to seemingly never having heard of them this evening.

9. I thought it was Monday the 25th - I only say that because
the http://www.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/ said that

"The papers are scheduled for public release on Monday, June 25."

Did something change?

James Bamford re:CIA "family jewels"

* Political Talk

On June 25th, the Central Intelligence Agency will lift the lid on the agency's own illegal activities from the 1950s, '60s and '70s. A summary of the 693-page report, released last week, tells of assassinations, kidnappings and domestic surveillance. Author James Bamford has spent nearly three decades investigating the activities of America's spy agencies. He tells Liane Hansen what the revelations say about the CIA, past and present.
