Cheney and executive priviledge....
has it occurred to any House and Senate committee members that with cheney's most recent claim of NOT being part of the executive branch that this also means he can't hide behind EXECUTIVE PRIVILEDGE?

If he's truly NOT part of the Executive Branch then why is the Vice President funded and housed by the Executive Branch? Congress should make a correction in the budgets to correctly reassign VP funding under Congress.

Other privileges which should be reassigned is his use of AIR FORCE-2, which is equipment of the executive branch, and secret servie protection which is paid for and provided by the executive branch.

In the past he has claimed Executive Privilege for him and his staff. By reasigning himself to the Legislature branch, Executive privilege no longer applies. Cheney and his staff now fall under the rules of the Legislative branch and are subject to the same levels of accountability.

The big question right now among Republicans is how to remove Vice President Cheney from office. Even before this week's blockbuster series in The Post, discontent in Republican ranks was rising.

As the reputed architect of the war in Iraq, Cheney is viewed as toxic, and as the administration's leading proponent of an attack on Iran, he is seen as dangerous. As long as he remains vice president, according to this thinking, he has the potential to drag down every member of the party -- including the presidential nominee -- in next year's elections.

2. Take away his salary and make him pay for his own staff.
Kick him out of his VP Mansion. Take away SS protection. Subpeona him, forthwith and put him under Oath regarding the Plame Outing and force him to give Congress his Energy Meeting Docs.

6. I believe that some in the House or the Senate have talked about this.

They have said that if Cheney insists he is not part of the executive branch, his VP salary should be stopped, he should leave his tax-payer funded residence (or else pay for it himself), and he should have to pay the salaries of those who work for him out of his own pocket (my very FAVORITE part of this).

The Dick-ster wants it both ways, but I think that he HAS finally stepped over the line in a way that the spineless politicos and Jane and Joe Citizen have finally seen what an evil, awful, unethical, immoral, sneaky, evil (oh, I already said that) fucking son of a bitch he really is.

Of course, there are worse things he has done. Far worse. But I think he has finally, FINALLY gone too far for the average American.

How many people out there who have been charged, or jailed. or convicted of some freakin' trivial "crime" are going to take very kindly to the #2 asshole in the administration getting away with saying that the law of the land, the rules the rest of us have to live with, don't apply to him????

I'm telling you, Jane or Joe Citizen (ESPECIALLY if they are of a minority race sitting in jail until way past the death of all we know right now) will NOT take kindly to this.

Jane or Joe gets hauled in, tried, convicted and sentenced for something like being caught toking a joint and gets sentenced to 10-20 years in prison is going to be REALLY REALLY PISSED OFF if Dick-up-His-Ass Cheney gets away with this. And I hope to God they are willing to take their fight to the streets, and I will be right beside them.

The President and the Vice President, upon being sworn into office, swear to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America. Last I checked. Dick McDumbFuck Cheney and George Moran Bush are the two who placed their hands on the bible and swore that oath. I have a message for them:

DICKFuck and DubayFuck: YOU ARE NOT ABOVE THE LAW. YOU DO NOT GET TO DECIDE ON YOUR OWN WHAT YOU WILL AND WILL NOT COMPLY WITH, PARTICULARLY WHEN IT COMES TO THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. THE VERY CONSTITUTION YOU SWORE TO UPHOLD WHEN YOU TOOK OFFICE.

AND LISTEN UP, YOU FUCKING GODDAMN SOBs. IF YOU THINK THAT YOU CAN CONTINUE TO GET AWAY WITH THIS KIND OF "IT DOESN'T APPLY TO ME" BULL-FUCKING-SHIT, I HAVE NEWS FOR YOU.

MAYBE THE STUPID FUCKS IN CONGRESS ARE TOO FUCKING SCARED TO CALL YOU ON YOUR BULLSHIT.

BUT.

JANE AND JOE CITIZEN AREN'T. THEY ARE WAKING UP (THANK THE MAKER). THEY WILL GO VISIT UNCLE JOE, AUNT MARTHA, MOM, DAD, BROTHER, SISTER, SON OR DAUGHTER WHO ARE SITTING IN A FUCKING MAXIMUM SECURITY PRISON FACILITY FOR SOME STUPID MARIJUANA CHARGE WHILE YOU GET AWAY WITH THE MOST UNETHICAL, IMMORAL AND REPREHENSIBLE ACTS EVER EVER PERPETRATED IN THIS COUNTRY, AND THEY ARE GOING TO SAY, "OH NO YOU DON'T."

JUST WAIT. JUST WAIT. IT'S BEEN A LONG TIME COMING, BUT I PROMISE YOU ON MY FATHER'S GRAVE.

YOU'LL GET YOURS.

NO, I AM NOT THREATENING YOU, SO AGENT MIKE, GO OUT BACK AND HAVE A SMOKE (AND DON'T WORRY IF YOUR SMOKE OF CHOICE IS WEED AS OPPOSED TO TOBACCO -- DICKHEAD AND DUMBYA HAVE YOU COVERED).

NO, I AM NOT THREATENING YOU, NOR WOULD I.

I'M JUST SAYING THAT YOUR DAYS ARE NUMBERED AS THE KING AND EMPEROR OR THE U.S.

WE. HAVE. HAD. IT.

AND THANKS TO DICK-MCDUMBFUCK,

THAT DAY IS COMING.

FUCK YOU VERY MUCH.

THAT IS ALL.

(FORGIVE THE YELLING; MY CAPS KEY IS STUCK RIGHT NOW...GOTTA WORK ON THAT.)
