If 67 was the 'Summer of Love', what is 2007 the Summer of? |
|
Edited on Tue Jun-26-07 06:53 AM by Philosoraptor
The summer of fear? The summer of hate? The summer of dick?
We've come a long way in fourty years baby.

5. '67 Was Also Another Long Hot Summer |
|
Newark, Detroit, Milwaukee...1967 sure wasn't the summer of love in those towns.
Today, people would rather phone-in a protest or couldn't be bothered or are too busy. Sadly in '67 many of us were the naive ones...we thought we could change a world and a country that didn't want change.

LSD frees your mind, meth and crack just kill you slowly. San Francisco gets all the good press.

Very little rain, temperatures are scorching and it's just this week summer.
There's no "global warming" by (hot) ass.

The intelligentsia are imprisoned in a nation run by relgious fanatics and run-of-the-mill imbeciles, meanwhile, the Left still searches in vain for leadership and a voice, any voice.
And the war crimes, torture, mass murder, secrecy, hatred, xenophobia continue . . .

Not just MM's great movie, but the summer US citizens became sick of lies, deceit, unbridled arrogance of George/Dic-k asserting they are accountable to no one.
We can hope, can't we?

Can't we ever get over the damn 60s. Sure I went through it as a kid and wanted to be older then but all those wishes and dreams are just that and never amounted to anything. It was just summer vacation. Like the Civil War, we'll just keep reliving it over and over again.
