Rev. Raymond Clayton could face more charges
Reverend Raymond Clayton gave up his right to a preliminary hearing today and could now stand trial in Northumberland County. He is the minister at Grace Fellowship Church near Mount Carmel.

Earlier this year Mount Carmel Township Police charged Clayton with stealing the identity of Pat Tomedi, 82, and using it to get several credit cards. Investigators said he racked up about $28,000 in credit card debt, usiner her name.

Tomedi was a church member for decades and acted as the secretary and treasurer. She called the past few months a nightmare.

"I was shocked, I was shocked, I was shocked. Oh and I was very terribly hurt that he could do that," Tomedi said in May. "And I didn't want to believe it. Maybe that's what my problem was, I didn't want to believe it. A man of god he called himself."

<snip>

Now investigators think Clayton could soon be in ever more trouble. The United States Postal Service is looking into filing federal charges against him because some of the credit card applications went through the mail. Clayton refued to comment on the charges.

"It's been really a trial for her but I believe God's in charge and this is an appointed time for justice to be done for her," Helene Tomedi said of her mother-in-law.
