Republican Thompson endorsed by ex-girlfriends
But is he the sort you'd like to have a beer with?

(snip)

Thompson, 64, dated for a long time after his 26-year marriage to his first wife, Sarah Knestrick, ended in 1984. In 2002 he married Jeri Kehn, who is 24 years younger than he.

Many of his old girlfriends still adore him and hope he wins.

"I think he has a great chance of capturing the women's vote. He's majestic. He's a soft, safe place to be and that could be Fred's ticket. Women love a soft place to lay and a strong pair of hands to hold us," ex-girlfriend country music singer Lorrie Morgan told the Sunday Times.

5. Those numbers don't add up unless Thompson got married at 15?
He is 64 years old, according to the article. 2007 less 64 means he was born in 1943.

His 26 year marriage ended in 1984, meaning he got married in 1958 (58 plus 26 = 84)

So, married in 1958, born in 1943 - married at 15?

27. That was Keith Whitley
A terrific talent, and former bluegrasser. He was pals with Ricky Skaggs and Vince Gill, both of whom have roots in bluegrass. Whitley's death from alcohol poisoning was so tragic and unnecessary.

12. Guess they should have fucked up their personal lives a little more--
what a crazy universe. GOP (family values party) horndogs with exes get credit for their past behavior, and staid, faithful long-married candidates--well, who cares about them?

17. Brilliant move, Fred! The only way Giuliani can top this is....
if he gets all his ex wives, all his former mistresses, both of his estranged children, and half the wise guys he's put away to come out and endorse him. That would totally checkmate Thompson.

23. There's a movie with this scenario
Running Mates

Behind every good man is a good woman -- or several. Michigan governor James Pryce (Tom Selleck) is making a bid for the White House, surrounded by a telegenic wife and the three former lovers who now run his campaign. Can the last honest man in politics make it to the Oval Office? Strange bedfellows make for even stranger politics in this wicked satire. (2000)

All these women have proved to me is that the only taste they have is in their mouth. Thompson is no Tom Selleck!

28. Do people really care what ex girlfriends have to say?
You've seen this guy's ghoulish face...these women dated him, and now we suddenly care about their opinions of his political acumen? I don't think they're in any position to make an accurate assessment.
