6. Seems more like an excuse for
publicizing the Cirque de Soleil show than a Beatles chat.

12. King can bring out the most boring in a person
An hour that might have been interesting is a yawner.

Frankly, it's often embarrassing and like watching a comedian bombing.

19. This was Really Great
I thought it was wonderful; surprisingly emotional and affecting, after I didn't expect much of it, considering that it was Larry King. Beautiful music, really put together well for this live thing in Las Vegas, and the best part, all those old films. It was really beautiful to hear Paul and Yoko talking with affection--and now a better mutual understanding of each other, it seems--after all their years of feuding. By the way, to those idiots who accuse Yoko of "breaking up" the Beatles, 1) they were largely drifted apart already; and 2) the one who really broke them up was that bastard Allen Klein, a total mistake to bring that bastard in to take over from Brian Epstein. This was a very enjoyable hour, which I taped, and it was great to hear Paul and Ringo talking with all the intellignece, wit, and compassion that made the true "Beatle atmosphere."

By the way, Larry King used to have a really great call-in radio program from New York City, overnight, and on the night John was murdered, frantic and crushed, I searched around for something to listen to about it--if anybody knew anything, just to hear something that showed some perception of the tragedy of what had happened--and I found this Larry King thing, which I had never heard of, and listened to it. It was one of the greatest, most compassionate and intelligent tributes, with every call, and every comment by King, beautiful, with real respect. I actually felt comforted after listening to it, because the host and audience really got it.

It was sad to think that there are two of them gone, (plus Maureen Starkey, originally married to Ringo, and I think Derek Taylor died a few years ago), but beautiful to know that, no matter how much time passes, this music is still huge and popular. It is all to the good.

20. I missed the show - Did Larry call Ringo, "George?"
I just caught a bit of it on Keith Olbermann tonight but missed what it was about.

21. Larry asked Paul
where he was when he heard that John died. After Paul answered, he started asking Ringo the same question, about where he was when he heard George had died. Paul turned it into something a bit lighter, with the joke about, "He's Ringo, not George" (not an exact quote).

Larry was fine. Both Paul and Ringo are extremely quick with their humor, and can make anyone appear a bit slow and confused. Some things never change.

If you were born after 1970, I think the show was probably pretty interesting. If you are someone who grew up with the Beatles, it was wonderful.

22. It's a bit Ironic that ...
...the Paul is Dead rumor started around '69 and yet he's still going strong at 65, while John and George sadly died fairly young. Anyhow, Beatles 4ever - Yeah, Yeah, Yeah. :-)
