June 27 (Bloomberg) -- After a tense drive in an armored convoy, on constant lookout for roadside bombs and other potential hazards, U.S. Marine Captain Jeffrey McCormack directed a giant forklift to set down the wooden outhouse.

``It may be an outhouse to you,'' said McCormack. ``It's progress for us.''

Jubayl, the outhouse's destination, is one of two districts already walled off. About 40 Iraqi police, supplemented by 160 members of a ``neighborhood watch'' of armed helpers, patrol the district from the fortified base. The police receive $500 a month, and members of the ``watch'' $50, all paid for by the Interior Ministry.

6. To say nothing of over 600,000 Iraqis.
As Stalin once said, "To kill one person is murder; to kill a million is a mere statistic."

Charles Manson is in prison. George Bush is in the White House.

4. What a STENCH!
And it's not from that outhouse.

I guess that compared to the rest of Fallujah, that the outhouse looks great. It's all relative, isn't it? From the same story:

"Ruined houses, shops and mosques still line trash-strewn dirt streets. More than half of Fallujah's 350,000 residents fled and haven't returned. Their place has been taken by insurgents and terrorists who have continued to infiltrate the city, detonate roadside bombs and snipe at U.S. forces."

5. History repeating itself?
Bush Snr talking to Bush Jnr: "Son,you are making the same mistake in Iraq that I made with your mother: I didn't pull out in time."
