Have there been other times in our history where a President or VP tried to pull this crap out of their asses about not being apart of the Executive branch of government?
I remember Nixon saying, "That if the President does it, it's not illegal." And his subsequent resignation.

...and few have the testicoli or the hoden to try to singlehandedly rewrite it. Between Article II and the 17th...I think it's the 17th...amendment, there isn't a lot of support for the idea that the VP isn't in the executive branch. The VP may be President of the Senate, but Senators are elected by popular vote, the VP is elected by the electors. That alone should pretty much seal the issue.

I still honestly do not think that they will leave office in 2009. Since they don't read the Constitution, or obey any of our laws, why wouldn't they complete the coup of this office by never leaving?
