Not only am I a Commie, I'm stupid as well
A little while ago, I went out to a local eating/drinking establishment to get something to eat (this place has great ribs). So I ordered my food, to go, and went out to the bar to have a beer. Well, three guys were talking about the fucked up state of radio in this country, two of them saying how wonderful limbaugh, etc. are and one guy bemoaning the loss of AAR in our area. Well, naturally, I had to get my big nose into it and defended AAR. Well, one guy decided that my view was unacceptable. He asked me, with a sneer on his mug, "You must be a Hillary supporter then?" I replied, "Nah, she's a bit too conservative for me." Then he decided to tell me everything that is wrong with Hillary. I repeated to him, "I'm not a big fan of Hillary, but she's still better than ANY republic candidate out there.". He apparently missed the meaning of my use of republic, or was too drunk to get it, because he said, "Shows how stupid you are. It's republican". I laughed at him and he started to get mad then. He predictably started attacking Bill Clinton and I replied, "It's been seven years. Why don't you give it up?" He again called me stupid. When I was walking out, he said, "Gore and Kerry are stupid too." I wanted to eat my dinner while it was still reasonably hot, so I just turned and laughed as I walked out the door. Figured it was the best thing I could do because one will never ever convince the Kool-Aid drinkers.

1. They really don't have anything to say, do they.
It's all rehashed and old.

2. Republick sounds like a mistake. Say "Republicker" instead.
That way, they KNOW it's deliberate.

The Republickers and the Republick party.

Adding the "K" when you write it also makes it obvious that it's intentional.

3. Glad I'm not the only one.
The thing is that I'm probably one of the more fiscally conservative Democrats out there, and I'm still a commie pinko dumb son of a bitch because I don't think defense spending is reasonable or that tax cuts for the rich are necessary.

4. Are you a pinko?
It only counts if you're a stupid, commie pinko. If not, you're good. :)

9. Yes. It is gone in the QCA
The company which owned it, Mercury Broadcasting, sold it to some "religious" guy, a graduate of Bob Jones University. It switched over around eight or nine months ago and is now a Spanish Language station, as of Monday. I guess it is sweet irony that the 412th religious station in these parts couldn't make it. But I sure do miss AAR and progressive radio. It is likely that you were hearing either your computer or the station out of Chicago, I think it's AM 850. Or maybe it was FM 92.1 the Mic out of Madison, Wisconsin. I can't recall the call letters of either station right now. But it sure would be nice to get 'em over the air.

11. Dumb as they may be,
I think it's time to lay this "republic" thing to rest. It's not effective, it doesn't get under their skin, and it just sounds stupid.

14. Welcome to DU, Nick
I reserve the right to misuse, Republican, any way I want to misuse it as revenge for having to hear, Rush Limpbaugh, say Democrat Party, over and over again. Call me immature but when they respect me, I'll respect them. It's a deliberate act of disrespect. And I love the idea of ending it with a 'K'. Rubublik.

15. I get that
Saying "Democrat party" makes sense since it is a party of Democrats. The Republican party is not a party of Republics. "Democrat party" sounds kind of like a low brow, ignorant way of saying "Democratic Party". Unfortunately this seems to have really irked a lot of Democrats, which prompted them to retaliate in a somewhat symmetric manner. The catch is I don't think it would really bother any Republicans, it would just make us look silly.

....trying to get a hard right-winger to see the light is like beating a dead horse; it might make you feel good, but in the end, it's hopeless....
