The unbeatable ticket would be |
|
Gore / Clark
Face it, we are at war. Having Clark immunizes the ticket from "lack of military experience at a time of war" spin, which you KNOW is coming from the right wing media machine.
Clark actually becomes a plus to the ticket for all those independents out there who are concerned about the country's safety.
And Gore, well, he is the ultimate satisfier for Dems of all flavors. Progressives will not abandon the party if Gore runs.
There is no Republican ticket that could come close to a Gore / Clark ticket. It would be one of the biggest landslides ever.

The forces of war are always life sucking our country into the abyss. We don't need Clark to validate them. They already have too much power.

he does not validate this war at all. He is one of the biggest critics of the war. Check out his stand on the issues, I think you'll be impressed.

..........but why is it that folks always think we would be more 'winnable' if we were more like them.......
The same strategy was used to nominate Kerry and look what happened. Kerry was far superior to Bush on war experience and yet he was Swift Boated.
Nah...........I'm tired of trying to appease the right thumping our chests to remind them that we have noble soldiers and veterans on our side.
Sure we do, but why should it matter!!!

and the Pentagon is the one institution in this country that needs to experience the cold hand of civilian oversight on its budget.
We can't afford to use it as a welfare office for out of work arms contractors.

3. I like the ticket, although your reasoning is really strange, seeing as Al Gore enlisted during |
|
Vietnam. And then went to Vietnam.
Gore did not go AWOL from TANG.
So, military creds aren't a huge issue.
Clark is a great VP candidate for a number of reasons, of which his military service is one.
And, I've been facing the fact that we are "at war" since we illegally invaded Iraq.

yes Al enlisted, but he has never been anything close to a General. My point is that Clark has far more experience than any of the Repubs will have so they won't even be able to bring it up.

4. I'm sick of Gore's waffling, kanoodling and being coy. |
|
He OBVIOUSLY does not have the good of the country in mind or he'd be red hot with passion about this mess we're in. Time for him to his environmental-thing and get out of the way. We need a Clark/Edwards ticket.

He's red hot.
He has shredded the fascist assholes on numerous occasions (with extreme passion and clarity).
How is he in the way? That makes no sense at all.

The time of announcement is a key part of the strategy. It is not a negative. He has to play his cards right. There are others who have not announced yet. He might look like he's waffling to you but he just hasn't made an official announcement at this point.
Al Gore has more passion than just about everyone else in the race.
Al Gore is doing all he is about the environment, and all the other speeches he's making, out of passion alone. It is no longer his job to do any of this. He's doing it out of passion.
So give it up if you're going to say he's lacking passion and is waffling. Not true.
