My perception of Coulter's problem -

I think it is self loathing. This "woman" absolutely despises herself. I think she is indeed sick; to me, she exhibits the symptoms of Anorexia (regrettably, it is something with which we've experienced a difficult situation in our family). If this is indeed the case, she likely hates her life, hates herself - and how it is being manifested is that she is incapable of doing anything but sowing seeds of destruction in all of her contacts and communications. Stir that up with the distortions and hypocrisy of an ultra right wing way of thinking, and you have a sick, sick person who also comes across as incredibly vile and evil.

I am not making excuses for her, and actually have no sympathy, because it appears as though she is doing nothing to help herself. Just an observation/theory I have.

Best solution? She should be completely ignored. Unfortunately, it isn't going to happen, because today's MSM - and lots and lots of the public - are drawn to this sort of deviant behavior.

What Coulter has is an act. She says those things because people enjoy hearing them, and pay her to say them. If she didn't have an audience she'd go away. But she does, and an admiring one at that.

I just noticed Coulter's nose, and noticed it looked a lot like one of Michael Jackson's previous nose jobs. I'd say there was either some botox or face lift action going on, too. Which suggests that perhaps Coulter does feel some form of self-loathing, and is thus obsessed with "beauty" (anorexia and plastic surgery).

One thing's for sure...the world hates Ann Coulter a lot more than she hates herself.

5. I think she's a shock-jock.

She just says outrageous things to get everyone all riled up so she can hawk a new book. I don't think that she actually believes what she say - no, much worse than that. If she actually believed what she said, then at least there would be some sort of integrity or conviction there. No, I think at heart she is a cynic who has found a very easy way to make a buck.

She speaks for them. She says things that they would love to say but won't dare do so. Have a number of prominent Repugs ever castigated her for the many vile remarks she has spewed? I think not. She is the their standard barer. She is also good for Dems because it gives Dems anger and spirit to bring more people into the Dem side of the equation. She has gotten rich from her bile spewing, articles, speeches and books that are replete with lies, distortions and RWing propaganda. She feeds off of both sides and laughs at both while she collects $Millions.

8. You make a very good point...

...when are the newscasters going to ask every Republic who come onto their show: do you endorse Coulter's latest remarks? But it never happens. Yet the same people will criticize Democrats for not responding to some obscure post on DU or elsewhere.

10. Coulter's self loathing is the only thing that Coulter is right about...

I do think that her schtick began as nothing more than schtick, but with her now out of control drug problem and eating disorder (and she obviously has both of those) it is no longer an act. It is no longer something that she can turn off and on. Like all anorexics, she deludes herself into thinking that anorexia is a means of control.
Make no mistake, Coulter is a sociopath, but sociopaths also loath themselves as much as they loath the rest of the world.
Coulter is in IMMENSE emotional pain.
All that being said, I feel no pity for her.
In fact, here's hoping that she takes control one final time and removes herself from the hell in which she lives.

15. Her career is built upon a simple premise

The right feels oppressed by the advances of the progressive society. These advances are based on intellectual and reasoned understanding of social conditions. Because these advances are sound intellectually speaking the right has no reasonable means to strike back against it.

This is where Coulter comes in. Her job is to say outrageous things that cause liberals and progressives to react emotionally. Her job is to bring them down to her fan bases level. And she is very good at it.
