GAME ON!! (Conyers Ready To BRING IT?!?)
Ok, we've all been very, very frustrated over the pace of things, but I think we're about to see some serious shit going down. I think Conyers is ready to throw down, for real. Inherent contempt maybe?

Conyers: This Means War
By Paul Kiel - June 28, 2007, 10:20 AM
A statement just out from House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers (D-MI):

"The President's response to our subpoena shows an appalling disregard for the right of the people to know what is going on in their government. The executive privilege assertion is unprecedented in its breadth and scope, and even includes documents that the Adminstration previously offered to provide as part of their 'take it or leave it' proposal. This response indicates the reckless disrepect this Administration has for the rule of law. The charges alleged in this investigation are serious - including obstruction of justice and misleading Congress - and the White House should be as committed to this investigation as the Congress. At this point, I see only one choice in moving forward, and that is to enforce the rule of law set forth in these subpoenas."

Update: And this just in from Rep. Linda Sanchez (D-CA), the chairwoman of the subcommittee that's led the House's investigation:

"It's tough to get lectured on the Constitution from the same Administration that said the Vice President is his own branch of government. The fact is that the Bush Administration, which has publicly declared its commitment to getting the truth on this issue, has stonewalled from the beginning. Mr. Fielding should understand two things: that nobody in their right mind would accept a White House offer that would condone perjury, and that saying 'take-it-or-leave-it' for months is not actually negotiation."

2. Blah blah blah
Seeing is believing folks. I won't believe anything until it actually happens. But Conyers is likely a man who can make it happen.

14. Because once again, seeing is believing
And I won't believe anything will ever come out of this. I think Conyers could make it happen, but that does not equate with will make it happen. And fyi, I reside in the state of confusion and have for many years. That and the state of intoxication.

20. Depends on which path of Contempt charges they go down...
Inherent Contempt is unimpeachable by the Supremes. They may as well rule Congress has no authority to legislate. Congress can literally imprison them until the end of this Congress.

Statutory Contempt is another matter.

10. Pile of republican poop
Do you believe that this bunch of republican poop spreaders are mostly the same ones who ran after President Clinton 24/7 trying to find "something" on him anything anything? Is this the same bunch of republicans who investigated --- the Clinton's Christmas Card List, Boots the Cat's Fan Club, visitors to the Lincoln Bedroom?

And the same Losthissences from WI, who shut off the mike and turned off the lights on the democrats meetings, who yelled and screamed for Clinton to be subpoenaed subpoenaed subpoenaed now wants to cut off the subpoenas from the white house. Subpoenas that would give this congress to some of the most crooked and corrupt actions this country has ever seen.

Golly it was much more important to see who Hillary and Bill Clinton sent Christmas Cards to, then to see who bush and cheney gave no bid contracts and funneled our tax money to, wasn't it.

How in the hell can bush claim executive privilege for that when president Clinton could not claim executive privilege for anything and was even made to testify under oath. While these two crooks hide again. By the way did you know the HID DURING THE VIET NAM WAR.

And by the way I know bush and cheney never read their emails sent by the public but if anybody even reads the one I sent, I will be looking for HS to be knocking on my door. I did not threaten I just told them what they were crooks and treasons.
