Do you get the idea that someone is knocking off our candidates before primary season begins? |
|
We have Obama, the smoker (according to Fox News), Biden, the racist (due to a truly stupid off the cuff comment). Edwards, the hypocrite (according to Drudge who posted the size of Edwards' new house), Kerry, the insulter of troops (thanks to one badly delivered joke), and Hillary Clinton, well. is Hillary Clinton.
So who is left?
Kucinch, not attacked, but perceived as fringe Vilsak, not attacked yet, but if he starts to gain traction, that could change
Possible :tinfoilhat:, but I wonder....

1. That, combined with the fact that McCain is treated as if he has gravitus and Brownback is ignored. |
|
Not to mention, not a peep about Guilliani.

21. Maybe the media leaves Hillary alone because Bill enacted the Iraq Liberation Act back in '98 |
|
It seems it was a prequel to the Iraq War. ...That along with the fact that Hillary's a hawk.
She never said she's against the war, she only criticizes how it was handled...she's not even willing to fight to end the war now.
She'll use the war as a tool to get elected. ...Didn't she promise to end the war if she were elected?

I don't. Since this is a matter of perception, I don't find it necessary to defend my subjective view which by definition doesn't include anything that happens in faux world.
I don't doubt what your saying though.

They are the only big names not smeared - also 'not running'. Feingold could be a shining 'dark horse' (I'm hoping).
As soon as one declares the smears begin - it is so trite and predictable....

Poster children on DU for "Hate Hillary the Heretic" club espouse cutting her campaign off at the knees because she is dynastic. (Two elected individuals related through married make a dynasty? How amazing!) Or she votes the way the political wind is blowing, when in fact she has strong Democratic voting record despite the Iraq war baggage.
I hate Hill and her little dog Bill. Let me say right here I hate Obama the smoker, too! Edwards the hypocrite. Clark the whatever, Biden the motor-mouth racist ("Clean" he called Obama! Outrageous! Jeebus, color blind Little Green Footballs blushed gray with shock!).
Remember Dean the psycho screamer? Gore the pathological liar (internet impresario, 'Love Story', Love Canal finder) with a fashion fetish (so much so he hired a female to advise him through his color moods) and had a pollution spewing Zinc mine in his back yard! An Eco-Hypocrite too boot!
No wonder the Military Hero, successful Business man, straight-shooting-John Waynian and powerful Governor of Texas beat us!

Obama - so what if he smokes, we don't want him to be President for life, just 8 years;) YES - knock off attempt - :tinfoilhat: Justified (but nothing close to the Fox nastiness which didn't dent him).
Biden - lets see, Committee on Foreign Relations Chairman and no diplomacy; justifiably out for now. Knocked himself around. No Tin Foil
Edwards - who cares where he lives, lets focus on his beliefs. :tinfoilhat: Justified (minor compared what they have in store; after all he is advocating real social justice at the center of his campaign.
Kerry - he corrected the comments on the spot. Mega :tinfoilhat: Justified. The media are complicit in all of this through the failure to call Bush on his lies. Of course they have to make Kerry look bad. It reminds us of what the world would have been like with out Bush.

We do not have to listen to the Corporate media and allow them to choose a candidate for us.
WE should decide FOR OURSELVES, and then let the media know who WE want.

I really don't see why the bad guys would bother with him, and anyway unless they invented an invisible ray that makes you say obviously stupid and wrong things guaranteed to implode your campaign...
As for HRC, one can only hope. Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton... what follows logically on that? Jeb, Chelsea, Jenna?

Or worse, already dead.
Only one of these so called stories has had an effect on the candidates, and few expected Biden to have much endurance in this match.
We are getting really good at whack a mole against hit jobs like these. Yes, the press is giving the little Segrettis (Segrettini?) cover for the time being. But they also have Iraq to deal with, and they have been pimping for the guy who now is scaring the world. That is a bit worse than just the IWR vote.
Will the Repugs fare better? I doubt it. They are shattered, and defering their troubles too far into the actual campaign season will only increase the volume of screaming when The Brownback wing meets the Giuliani wing against the Hulk McCain in the elephant death cage match that will be the puggie primary season. Will Karl Rove survive it? No, Rove will not even survive the Libby trial. I know that little Rove wannabees proliferate, but having tasted the defeat of 06, and staring at an even more exposed senate slate in 08, how much traction will the party give them?
What this means is that the centrist dems are going to have to run from the left of their preferred position due to the long ass pre-primary campaign and the long attention span of likely primary voters. What is going to shock them is how much the public wants to hear about a new deal, and a new NRA/CCC/WPA for the 21st C.
