John Edwards comments on Coulter's attacks against Senators Clinton & Obama (Hardball)
'Hardball with Chris Matthews' for June 27
Read the transcript to the Wednesday show

~ excerpt ~

MATTHEWS: Yes, what did you make of her attack on Hillary? She made fun of her build, her weight. She made fun of a couple of things. She made fun of Barack Obama‘s middle name, Hussein. What do you make of that, that sort of general invective you get from her now?

JOHN EDWARDS: Well, I think, first, as to Senator Clinton, this is demeaning and offensive to women at large. It‘s offensive to Senator Clinton, who‘s a terrific senator and a great leader in this country and a great role model for a lot of women. And for her to demean her that way is completely unacceptable.

And Senator Obama—I mean, here‘s an African-American man who‘s running for president of the United States, who is in many ways a role model for a lot of young African-Americans in this country. And for her to make fun of—first of all, it‘s something he has no control over, his name.

MATTHEWS: Right.

JOHN EDWARDS: And to make fun of and demean him in that way is just -

it‘s completely consistent with what we see from these crazies. And somebody has to speak out about it and stop it.

1. Mathews is still an ass
If you compare the grilling he gave John Edwards in the interview to the enabling comments he made to help coulter do here assassination, he is clearly an accomplice in her hate-mongering.
John handled himself beautifully in that interview and never once let Twetty take him away from his message.

2. He Called Her Crazy
:wow:

I mean, it's only calling it like it is, but we don't normally see such refreshing forthrightness in presidential candidates.

But, good for him.

3. coulter has no reason in the world to make fun of anybody
else, face, figure or demeanor. Hillary Clinton is not a bad looking woman and her figure is ok.

Now look at coulter's made over face, which still reminds you of a horse. The ears are such, they are constantly covered by that out of date hair. The figure is skinny and shapeless as a rail. You can tell they are breast implants, and if you ever saw the picture of coulter modeling underwear you could tell this right off.

I think when a person's face and figure is as ignorant as coulter's they have absolutely no leg to stand on and critize someone else.

8. Debate about Hillary's politics aside...
I met her in DC last summer, and in person, she is quite petite, and is actually rather pretty. Her figure is perfectly fine, she was dressed in a nice, flattering suit, and she has very pretty eyes, too. She's a nice looking woman.

Compare that to Man-mazon Coulter who is masculine, huge, lanky, and has a Schwarzenegger jaw, and is 100% masculine. She looks like a guy, plain and simple.

Now, does that make her less of a person? No. Her attitude does that. Would I bother pointing out her manly size and ghastly appearance if she had not attacked another woman in a similar manner? No, but all bets are off once you prove yourself to be a mean, catty wench like she has. If she wants to make fun of the way another woman looks, she better be damn well ready to have her own shortcomings pointed out.

Coulter looks like a rubber glove stretched over a pile of razorblades, and she sure as fuck has NO RIGHT OR REASON to be making fun of the appearance of ANYONE else.

4. Excellent responses from Edwards!
I believe Senators Clinton and Obama (as well as the rest of our candidates) would do the same in a similar situation.

5. Edwards has really set himself
apart from Obama and Clinton, on the issues (which he has) and in defending them as well. What a gentleman!
