Nancy Benoits death reported on Wikipeida 13 hours before discoverry

This is a curious one:

Web Time Stamps Indicate Nancy Benoit's Death Reported on Web at Least 13 Hours Before Police Found Bodies in Her Home
Thursday, June 28, 2007

By Blane Bachelor

An anonymous user operating a computer traced to Stamford, Conn. — home to World Wrestling Entertainment — posted an entry to pro wrestler Chris Benoit's biography on Wikipedia.org announcing the death of his wife Nancy at least 13 hours before police in suburban Atlanta said they found her body along with her husband's and that of their 7-year-old son, FOXNews.com has learned.

Employees at Wikipedia.org said the posting went live on their site on Monday at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Standard Time. Police, however, said they found the bodies Monday at 2:30 p.m. EDT.

The posting reads: “Chris Benoit was replaced by <[Johnny Nitro>] for the ECW Championship match at Vengeance, as Benoit was not there due to personal issues, stemming from the death of his wife Nancy.” According to a Wikipedia.org report published after FOXNews.com made inquiries, the edit was reversed just under one hour later with the comment:

"Need a reliable source. Saying that his wife died is a pretty big statement, you need to back it up with something."

2. "Web time stamp"
Ay yay yay...

That just about says it all in terms of whether this is a fact or an illusion.

16. Oh Benoit could have told someone his wife is dead.
It was reported she was killed first, then the child. She was probably dead for while before the body was discovered. He could have told someone she was dead.

4. the question, of course
is does wikipedia maintain logs based on the time the editor's computer says it is, or the time wikipedia's servers says it is?

5. An anonymous user??
Within a few hours they can have a court order and have the actual physical address in hand and go have a little talk with the owner of that computer -- if it's a WWE computer then WWE's IT people can say within minutes who's computer that is and track down who was sitting in front of it at that time.

Even if someone was just blowing shit out their butt when they posted that and it unfortunately ended up being true, the person needs to be talked to and if a WWE employee, made public and probably fired. -- if it turns out someone who actually knew Nancy was dead they need to squash their ass for not immediately calling police.

20. If he told someone his wife was dead (sickness, disease, etc)
HTF do you think that person was supposed to know it was murder?
It was reported he was telling others his wife and son were vomiting blood.
If then he told someone his wife succumbed to the disease, that person would have no way of knowing she was murdered.
Jeez.

21. Calling police on what? Whoever posted this did not post
Nancy was murdered. He/she posted Nancy was dead. The guy was telling other people his wife and son were sick/vomiting blood. I think the logical conclusion that if Benoit told someone about her dying, he said she died from a disease. WTF do you assume somebody knew about the murder and didn't report it?

8. The entry came from Samford, Conn.
Which is the location of WWE. I believe David was in Atlanta at the time the article was posted.

9. Is that possible?
That was my first thought the first time I heard this but then I found out the computer was in Stamford CT while Benoit was in Fayetteville, GA. I guess it's possible Benoit was using one of those remote software programs to access a WWE computer from home..........

17. i heard that too.

Benoit's wife was killed on Friday in an upstairs family room, her feet and wrists were bound and there was blood under her head, indicating a possible struggle, Ballard said.

Daniel was probably killed late on Saturday or early on Sunday, the body found in his bed, the district attorney said.

Benoit, 40, apparently hanged himself several hours up to as long as a day later, Ballard said. His body was found in a downstairs weight room hanging from the pulley of a piece of exercise equipment.

A closed Bible was placed next to the bodies of the wife, 43, and son, authorities said.

The prosecutor said he found it "bizarre" that the wrestler spread out the killings over a weekend and appeared to remain in the house for up to a day with the bodies.

14. well
my guess is that when he canceled his appearance, he told someone at WWE that his wife had died. Then it got posted on Wiki, but nobody knew the details.

It's always getting my time and date (and year) wrong - I never trust any web time stamp.

My guess is he told someone his wife was dead.
That someone posted it on wiki.

22. I remember an article saying people he knew at WCW got "strange text messages" from him.
Maybe he texted them what he did before doing himself in.
