My partner just got off the phone with the DCC
they called looking for money

she told them "show me the impeachment and I'll show you the money"

they responded with "uhhh...uhhhh.uhhh"

my partner went into a rant about how she always supports the Dems, donates money to campaigns, votes Dem etc. and how disappointed she is with their performance.

She said she's going to treat them like a contractor, you don't get paid until the work is done...

BWAAAAAA-HAAAAA-HAAAAA

she says I'm a bad influence
ROFL

1. Good for your partner. It was the DNC at our house
and my husband tried to explain our position to them. He got the usual excuses for having no guts. The guy ended up getting really pissed and said something that made my normally calm husband almost throw the phone. That is the second call from the DNC like this. I had the last one when they laughed and said, "oh, you are in Kansas so who cares what you think." Man if I had ever been tempted to give them money that is over now. 2 nasty calls. They are done. Only candidate donations now.

3. the DNC does not play a role in Congressional affairs
You just fucked Howard Dean and his 50 state effort to get Dems elected on the local level.

Good job.

6. I understand that
Edited on Thu Jun-28-07 06:20 PM by MuseRider
but I don't care. When they do not listen, become belligerent on the phone and insulting and then follow it up with a request for money?

Frankly I do not care one little bit about Howard Dean. As long as the people working for him act in that manner they do not deserve any money nor do they deserve any support.

THIS is just part of the DC mentality that alienates people over and over. You would think if they wanted money they could refrain from being assholes at least before they ask.

Oh, and again? I support the people who work for the citizens of this country and giving to a big group like the DNC and giving Dean the call over where to send my money is never going to happen. If Dean cared at all what we thought he would have his people taking it down and engaging in conversation rather than giving us the old run around that we hear from everyone else. That is some 50 state effort telling people who don't do what they want that they don't matter. Yup. Way to go.

Personally about now I feel pretty fucked over myself.

Edit for spelling because I do not spell well when I am angry :eyes:

12. I will give the Democratic Party money when ...
Edited on Fri Jun-29-07 05:14 AM by liberaldemocrat7
They repeal Medicare Part D and put the benefit in Medicare Part B covering 80 percent of medication cost with no coverage gap, no means test, no extra premium and no extra deductible and raise the minimum wage to $10 an hour, end the war in Iraq and repeal and replace the nasty 1996 welfare law with something more humane to people, and set up vote by mail with paper ballots counted by civil servants and civil servants registering voters and keeping track of those voter registrations.

Go see http://www.dmocrats.org

8. When you put out some money for a product or a service
you expect a certain level of quality and performance.

When the item doesn't live up to it's expectations - do you go out and buy more of it?

A few months ago, there was a big push to contact Coulter's advertisers and newspapers which carried her column in response to Coulter calling Edwards a fag. The newespapers carrying her column and advertisers on her website didn't call Edwards a fag, nor do they write her columns.

Many of the companies pulled their ads from coulter's site and many newspapers stopped running her column. Why? Because dollars talk real loud and it's the only way to get their attention.

a 50-state effort doesn't do any good if all you are getting is more of the same.

If the DLC, DNC, DCC or some other alphabet combination wants my money - I want to see results. They need to take all that dry powder out of the pouch, put it on the table, load the muskets and be determined to use it.

21. Give it to your local county party
As a county chair, I'm pretty sure they would love to get even the smallest donation.
I know I would! :)

2. tell her she's wrong. . .
You are a "rad" influence. . .

Please excuse the bad pun.

I'm semi dehydrated from garden work.

Good for her.

Though I feel the same I wonder if too many take this stance it'll only make the Dems even more reliant on corporate money and the defining lines between the parties will become even more obfuscated.

It's confusing. We are in such dire need of election and campaign finance reform and no body is addressing either issue right now.

Really sad. But she did really well nonetheless.

23. Once wasn't enough...
I did it twice. Once for DCC, and once for a candidate for the house, outside my state, who I contributed to in hopes of having a Democratic majority (so we could impeach).

I told DCC the day they put impeachment on the table I'll be sure to drop 'em a check.

I told the representative's campaigner that the day he co-signed H.Res. 333 - Kuchinich's resolution to impeach Cheney, I'd send a contribution.

I have contributed to each house member who has co-signed H.Res. 333.

I'm starting to look forward to campaign phone calls.
