5. Could that be why Jeb didn't seek re-election for Governor this term?

Someone (Rove?) had a talk with him. Told him "don't run for re-election, we're tossing Cheney under the bus and we're going to need you to step up to take his place, then replace the dumb one in '08"...

Isn't Rove the one who tossed Scooter under the bus? I hear Rove and Cheney hate each other...

7. Jeb - gov re-election

I believe Florida has term limits for Governor, limit to 2 terms and jeb served for two terms

regarding smirk-boy nominating jebby or anyone else for VP at this time - the congress needs to confirm them, just like any other presidential nomination

I seriously doubt Jebby would be confirmed, however I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up getting tapped as a running mate for one of the repubs

They could spin it as "I'm not my brother"... lol

8. You are correct, I just looked it up and they changed it in '92

Florida 1992 Governor limited to 8 consecutive years in office. 3,625,500 voted "YES" to limiting the terms, which was 77% of the votes cast. I don't remember that vote, but Nov. '92, I was still trying to recover from Hurricane Andrew and wasn't much into the political scene. I know I voted for Clinton in the Presidential election because he showed up in Homestead before Poppy did, and I wouldn't vote for a repug anyways. Clinton actually stopped his motorcade and got out and talked to some of us, shook hands, had a meet & greet. Poppy's motorcade flew through and barely slowed down to look at anything, much less stopping to meet and greet the victims.
