"His bank account is empty and there's nowhere to go for more. I think his presidency is essentially over."

Light proposed a headline to sum up the week: "The president loses his legacy."

Bush loyalists say there's plenty of fight left in the president, and plenty of time for him to use his remaining power. Bush and his advisers have warned Congress that the president will veto spending bills that he considers excessive.

Even if Bush wins the fight on legal grounds, it could take a toll on his already battered public reputation. Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, accused the president of "Nixonian stonewalling."

-----------------------------------------------------------

Oh there IS a bush legacy, but not the hallucination that everyone wanted, he most definitely will leave his legacy, like a monstrous tumor on our national psyche.

What the hell happened georgey? Damn, I remember when he was Churchillian and Lincolnian, what the hell happened to that? I remember when his popularity numbers were in the 200's!

I guess we can expect decades long spinning to somehow make bush look like he wasn't the worst disaster in U.S. history personified. Anyone with half a brain and two eyes can see that the legacy will be that he was cheney's monkey, and the stupidest man to ever become president.

But let's not dismiss bush's two-part brain, dick and karl who write the words that he reads off the teleprompter and hears in his ear-piece, THEY are not quite done raping Americans and holding us all for ransom.

The stupid fucker was actually WEEPING again yesterday, besides his daddy, the purse carrying former president, he's the weepiest president ever. My God man, can't you at least wait till you get home in private to weep hysterically? It looks bad george, it really does.

Now what could jr. possibly have to get all teary eyed about?

4. This 'legacy' crap slays me.
It's an oh so fancy word for his job record, and when you look at that in the harsh light of truth, he's right up there with the best of the maniac dictators of history.

2. He has a legacy - Iraq
Death and despair and desperation along with terror are all part of his legacy. He will forever be known as the terror or maybe the terra president.
He will never be able to eclipse the failure called Iraq and what it has brought and will bring to the world for generations to come.

Then there is the debt he has straddled the country with for generations.

Oh he has a legacy, that of failure. A failure that will last for a long time.

5. There is still way too much damage they could do to this country
and the world before they are finished.
Although he as been called a dead duck president, he still could ignite a war with Iran, strip us of further rights and cause more despair among the world including the United States of America.

Down and out but still dangerous.

7. Busholini will veto every Bill Congress sends him out of
Spite.

I don't understand why Congress cannot over ride the Stem Cell Research Bill. Don't tell me there aren't enough votes for that.

10. He Knew, let it happen, exploited the dead, & wasted the soldiers.
Not to mention the million or so he's ordered dead in Iraq and Afghanistan, not to mention the millions more soon to die.

It will look great in between an aerial photograph of the Americans stranded at the SuperDome and right alongside the wall plaque he will be awarded for being the first and only US President in history to have lost three separate wars within eight years for unsuccesfully defeating the Taliban in Afghanistan, Bin Laden and AlQaeda anywhere, and the insurgents in Iraq.

What a guy!

14. Now if the guy would only hold a shotgun under his own chin
while he weeps like a BABY. What a puss, sissy man. He cries for HIMSELF, and NOT ONE of those people He killed. Lizard feelings, crocodile tears.

Nice graphic, good work! But like I said, that blood on the wall above his head should be self inflicted.

Do the guys in the black suits come to your house if you say that the pResident should OFF HIMSELF? :)

Maybe they should arrest themselves, or get back to Bush before he actually DOES IT :)

yep, for himself and himself alone. He couldn't care less about the millions of people who have suffered "at the pleasure" of the pResident.

20. He has made America weep with shame for 6 1/2 years.
Now he gets all sobby about his "legacy", which is an unbroken chain of failure, arrogance, dishonesty, and even worse failure.

Legacy? Ha! This is a "president" who has not accomplished one single worthwhile thing in his entire presidency.

Pathetic.

26. His legacy?
New one - same as the old one. Failure. Bloody failure.

School; National Guard;Oil Business; Governorship;President. Not one honorable moment or accomplishment.

All his life he's been propped up by money, Daddy's friends and folks who needed his name recognition to further their own goals. They will desert him in January 2009.

With a few misguided sycophants in tow, I believe he'll retire to a lonely, drunken and very empty sunset. May he live long and regret much.

Edited on Fri Jun-29-07 02:05 PM by tjwash
..."shut the fuck up you snot nosed little whiner, or I'll give you a reason to cry."

No matter what happens, in 2009 when he leaves office, he is going to enter the tough as nails life of a BFEE family member. Sleeping off his hangovers until noon and starting the day with a breakfast bloody-mary. Going to the golf course three days a week. Fishing on weekends. Spending every different season in a different mansion, in a different exotic country. All with armed Secret Service protection 7X24X365 for the rest of his days paid for by...us.

Actually, now that I think about it, it's probably not that much different than how he spends his days now...
