Chiropractor sentenced in drug theft
Slinger chiropractor sentenced in drug theft

West Bend - A Slinger chiropractor was sentenced Wednesday to 60 days in jail and two years' probation for stealing prescription narcotics from one of his patients at her Richfield home.

Washington County Circuit Judge Annette K. Ziegler also sentenced James A. Wilke, 45, to an additional 9 months in jail but stayed that sentence, meaning Wilke will not have to serve that time if he successfully completes his probation.

Wilke pleaded no contest and was found guilty in May of two counts of misdemeanor theft.

According to a criminal complaint, he visited the Richfield home of the patient daily over a four-day period in August 2006. After each visit, the woman noticed some of her hydrocodone pain medication was missing, according to the complaint. Hydrocodone is a narcotic.
