I have to say Senator Dole is looking..
very well preserved these days. Hats off to her surgeon, I hardly recognize her anymore. Looking good Liddy, perhaps a run for V.P. next year?

14. More like a typical Republic who really knows her place
but who has had to step outside it in order to force the rest of us into that place. What an admirable sacrifice she has made.

:sarcasm: for the slow.

Yes, she's had work done, nipping and tightening, collagen into upper lip and cheeks, "windswept" eyes. About all she can do in the future is her neck and under her chin, or she'll be turning Japanese (I really think so). Her hair is heavily dyed and the makeup was applied with a heavy hand.

She looks incredibly unnatural.

Makes me glad I decided to go to pot naturally. The years will write their passing on our bodies one way or another, and having somebody else's face trying to deny them seems like a weird way to live.

42. Never saw a real close-up of a male senator but if I have the
opportunity to check out any that seem to have a very unnatural physiognomy (gotta love that word, first time I ever had occasion to type it), I will be sure to comment. Severely arched and penciled eyebrows on a male senator should be a laugh, chipmunk cheeks? That would be worthy of a word or two.

I wonder if I should delete this?? I'm not usually catty but the way I feel about the bunch in Washington, it just feels good.

I had a chance to sit in the gallery for an hour during the Bill Clinton impeachment process so I got a good look at the tops of a lot of Senatorial heads. They must use super-glue to keep those strands in place.

64. Not to mention out-and-out rugs
Salon once actually counted up the number of Senatorial rugs, plugs, combovers, etc., and came up with an astonishing 21 out of (at the time) 91 male Senators, of which eight were full-on rugs.

http://archive.salon.com/people/feature/1999/11/22/toupees/index.html

Now to Congress. Availing myself of pictures I found on the Internet, I conducted my own survey of all the toupees, transplants, weaves and hair pieces in the United States Senate.

Out of our current 99 senators, I found 97, and took away for statistical purposes the nine women (to whom we'll return when we revisit the dye issue) as well as Ben Nighthorse Campbell (who enjoys a hair surplus). That left me with a base of 87, from which I've concluded that there are two transplants, eight hairpieces and the possibility of 12 additional variations on hair augmentation or enhancement in the Senate.

Sens. Joseph Biden, D-Del., and Strom Thurmond, R-S.C., are the transplant leaders. Thurmond, who was born in 1902, is at 97, probably entitled to all the plugs and brown hair and cosmetic surgery his heart desires. Just keep him away from foreign policy. William Roth, R-Del., has what must be the most egregious wig in the Senate, but you have to give him credit for at least going with gray, in keeping with his 78 years. Sen. Bob Smith, R-N.H., with his rugged movie star looks (well, he kind of looks like Wallace Beery), has the second worst toupee; although Sen. Daniel Akaka, D-Hawaii, looks like his is the one that covers the most territory.

find these "looks" Do you open a photo book and say," I'll have those eyes, that chin, those cheeks etc. She should have aged gracefully, like most of us do. At least our wrinkles are real, we don't look waxy and taught.

Speaking of eyebrows, someone should advise Mrs. Pelosi to assess her startled deer-in-the-headlights brow arch. Now I'm just being catty, I know.

55. Her poll numbers are not that good in NC, but she has a boatload of money to spend...
That appears to the be the problem in getting a top-line Democrat to oppose her.

Some political strategists here in NC predict that it will take approximately $3 mil to run against her, and many Dems have been shy about jumping in because the 2008 presidential race and other races are already draining contributors' pockets.

IMHO she is now the most vulnerable as compared with any other time she has held the Senate seat.

What we need is another 'John Edwards' to step up and take her on, like he did with incumbent Repub Lauch Faircloth. If they don't come forward, they will miss a golden opportunity.
