Poll question: If Nancy Pelosi Brought Impeachment to the Floor, would the House vote to Impeach Bush? |
|
What's your take? Would they successfully impeach Bush, or would impeachment fail? Oh and look for a companion poll momentary (warning in advance). Bryant Check it out --> http://politicalcomment.blogspot.com

8. whether the House would vote for impeachment or not (realpolitik) |
|
does not eliminate the duty of each congressperson to seek impeachment when faced by such an overwhelming pattern of high crimes and misdemeanors by the executive (the Constitution)

I just don't think that we need to be tearing down people like Pelosi because they come to a different conclusion, and choose not to pursue a strategy that most even here are not certain will be successful.

7. I think some repubs would have to go along to save face |
|
Once the dirt starts coming out on those assholes they'd have to go along to save their own asses and the future of their party.
Once the American people see to what extent they have gone to screw the constitution that will be it.
We must remember.. 70% of Americans don't like bush/cheney - the repubs will have to turn to save their own asses.

9. No way!! There are to many DINO's in office! |
|
Besides, she said she won't do it; so it's moot.
I want them both impeached but I think they'll be very stubborn on this and just let it play out the clock until the presidential election.

12. It matters more to me that |
|
they at least try. To not try, especially after Nancy talking about the half of the crimes we do not even know about is reprehensible. If nothing else it is a statement that can begin more dialog. To put the notion away looks like they are complicit or stupid or chicken. They also look less like leaders. I don't think this should be a political issue, or at least not one about their personal re-election, but I do think there will be far worse political repercussions by not even trying than if they try and lose.

14. Nancy Pelosi: The AIPAC Girl |
|
Googling our Speaker brings up her close AIPAC ties, Argentinian Jewish heritage, desire to eliminate Iran etc.etc.-- very interesting.
Yesterday in interview w/ Charlie Rose, she said GWB was a lovely, lovely man from a very lovely, patriotic family, and that his ONLY problem was that he was "oblivious".
Important to get to know who she is ...why 'Impeachment is off the table" according to her ties....

Since she is next in line after Darth it would seem like she is after the job of Pres. That would seem too much like self interest. Hell, Congress cannot even Impeach Gonzo or Darth, much less Busholini, that lovely man.

18. Okay! Let's have an understanding.... |
|
(I'm just springboarding off your post, Disturbed. This is a general comment, and this looks like a nice place for it.)
What's with all the Barack and Nancy flapdoodle about impeachment being "off the table?"
Last time I checked (Civics, 8th grade) -- wait for it -- The House of Representatives has the power to impeach the President and Vice-President.
Nobody else!
What the Senate thinks about impeachment is quite immaterial. Their opinions on impeachment are meaningless.
Once the President is impeached, however, the Senate tries him/her for the crimes listed in the impeachment proceedings.
