I always keep about 60 to 80 Canadian around for when I go to Canada, and in the last few years, it's gone up in value while sitting in my house. I always joke that I trade in foreign currency.

11. No problem. Even if you have $1 and $2 bills, they're still good. |

No problem. Even if you have $1 and $2 bills (which have now been superseded by coins), they're still good. Mr. Tesha and I spent our last low-value bills in just the last year or two. We first asked if we could use them and the merchant got confused, saying, essentially, "well why wouldn't you be able to use them?"

5. This hasn't happened since the 70's, right? |
|
I was told the last time the Canadian Dollar was worth the same as the American Dollar was in the 70's.
That says either:
1) The Canadian economy is very strong.
2) Our economy is in the toilet.

At least, I know that 2 is true, and I believe 1 is, as well.

10. I think it's been longer than that, I went to Niagara Falls the early 70's and it... |
|
...still in the $0.70 to $0.79 range back then, IIRC.
Yes, our economy IS still very weak and with OIL at $70.00 per barrel, and the fact that Canada is by FAR our largest foreign Oil supplier...
It all makes, auh, Cents. (sorry)

Give it a few more days.
Meanwhile, the pound sterling is back above $2 and seems to be staying there.
