Will 52% of Americans Refuse to Vote For Hillary IF She is Dem Nominee? ...LINK
http://rawstory.com/news/2007/Half_of_Americans_say_they_wouldnt_0629.html

I happen to believe the country as a whole has moved beyond sex and race as disqualifying factors in choosing our next President. There are plenty of other factors more important this time around.

However, if this poll is close to being correct, it means some American voters might vote against Hillary in numbers significant enough to cost her the general election.

WHile I prefer John Edwards, If Hillary is the nominee, she has my support.

I just hope others will support her as well if she is the Dem nominee.

1. No. She's had a significant shadow vote that does not show up in polls...
in every election.

but didn't feel like taking the inevitable shit-storm. In my opinion, a Hillary nomination will get us a Repub president. Their reign must end, it's not worth the risk.

4. Oh, I really appreciate scare tactics.
If Democrats vote for the Democratic candidate, the Democrat wins.

It's that simple.

No "tactics" employed to anyone on anyone else's behalf, just my opinion.

Her heavy corporate connections isn't entered into on any of these *Hillary's GOT to win* postings.

14. Awesome post!
I agree, too.

She will not have my vote if she is the nominee. The DLC/AIPAC double-whammy disqualifies her completely.

6. If the Democratic Party decides
That HRC is the best candidate it has to offer, I will probably vote for her, only because I see her as less evil than her opponents.

But more significantly, I will be throughly convinced that the Democratic Party has taken leave of its senses and is no longer worthy of my support.

We don't need to nominate a candidate who is despised and reviled by so many Americans--Democrats and Republicans. We have some good candidates, we don't need to settle.

15. if it's no longer worthy of your support, why support it?
If HRC is the Democratic nominee, it's time for me to vote something other than D.

7. Can't understand these articles =- who writes them
Hillary is leading in all the polls. Hillary according to most of the polls will beat all republican candidates. Now who took this poll and are they calling all the other poll takers in this country liars but them. I would love to see Edwards at the top of the poll he is a darling and I would love for him to win. But if Hillary is winning why do these people try to deny it.

11. The whining will subside and behind the curtain in the voting booth
most Democrats will vote in opposition to the GOP candidate if nothing else.

13. If Hillary is the nominee, I'll be writing in either Edwards or Kucinich
depending on my mood when I'm behind the curtain. Billary, never.

21. It seems odd you include Edwards with Kucinich.
Edwards rallied so convincingly on behalf of the IWR (that he co-sponsored) that his OP was featured on the State Department's website.

My money's on Al Gore.

23. "My money's on Al Gore" - not in the race yet. that's why I left him out.
I included both Edwards and Kucinich because they tend to populism.

12. "beyond sex and race as disqualifying factors" - No. It's her NAFTA/WTO-
signing husband Bill and his bad influence on her foremost. I don't want (clearing throat) Big DAWG back in the WH.

I will not support Hillary even if she is the nominee. I will support any other Dem running.

No more Clintons. No more *'s.

16. Considering that 50% of
eligible Americans don't vote anyway, maybe the numbers come from those folks.

Lots of people don't vote. I always do and I'll take up some of the slack and vote for Hillary is she's our candidate.

18. She can win
Hillary is my enthusiastic third choice behind Obama and Edwards. I might not like Hillary's politics much, but it would be the biggest FU we could possibly give the right-wing if she won. I also think that the righties will go so over the top if she's the nominee that it will backfire badly on them.

20. I am no Hillary Fan, but given the blue state/red state divide
She could take 48% nationally and still win because of the electoral College distribution.

24. The reason I posted this was not because of the 52% figure, but rather...
a small but substantial number of 'anti-Hillary' voters could tip the scales in the general election.

I still do not believe it is the sex/race issue that many pundits point to as the motivating factor.

THis is just one poll, but it may indicate a problem that Dems need to address early if Hillary wins the nomination.
