OMG Sicko is absolutely wonderful!!!
I went to the first showing today. It is Michael Moore's BEST movie yet. Go see it right away. It is the first movie he has made that made me cry. I laughed a lot too.

Oh and I want to move to France now. :)

9. Except we don't speak French, and we have relatives in Canada. Unfortunately
Canada will not take us, even though hubby's mum was from there. And anyway, hubby refuses to move. Things are all that bad here, according to him.

3. He focused in on France during the movie
because there is government run health care there. He also focused in on England, Canada, and Cuba.

5. Thanks for the quick review...
I heard the last 30 minutes drag a bit.

As soon as we can get a sitter, we're going.

Check out the unemployment figures for France before packing your bags.

8. as far as unemployment
Edited on Fri Jun-29-07 03:53 PM by AllegroRondo
keep in mind that most European countries calculate their unemployment rate differently than we do. They go by official counts of the number of people not working, the US goes by a phone survey - if you want to work and are actively looking for a job, you count as unemployed.

11. My family and I recently vistited there and I would love to live there. We don't speak
any French, but everyone was so nice to us(Especially the kids.). The last person to make a comment about "rude/dumb French people" got jumped so hard by me they didn't know what hit them. If I could move there I'd learn French even though I'm miserable with languages. Do they have super strict immigration laws like England?
It is such a wonderful place. So beautiful and so much impressive history. We stayed in the Latin quarter in Paris and I highly recommend it. I just can't say enough wonderful things about it. My only complaint was that the air seemed kind of dirty and we had to leave just days before everything started to bloom(Huge buds everywhere!).

I'm definitely going back for a long visit as soon as I'm done with Italy...

13. Je parle Francais
un peu.

I was fluent in high school and college. (One of the benefits of a fancy private school) I am sure I can get it back with a few lessons. I still understand some French.

Hey go see SICKO!! It is fabulous.

16. I am going to pass out flyers before the 6:45 show
I went to see the movie early so I could do the flyers and set up the party room at The Flea for the after movie party.

And I am VERY tempted to see it again at 6:45. :)
