4. I have watched it in the past...

and can't figure out how anyone could defend those schmucks who end up caught in the show. Seriously they had the intention of having sex with underage children if you are cool with that then thats you, but anyone who thinks sex with kids is ok is a fucking monster in my book.

Personally, I think it's fucking disgusting.

The only thing that softened me on the issue was a very good friend of mine. He came out to his mother at the beginning of a three-day blizzard. If you've never spent an eventful winter in the North East US, you should know that you don't leave your home when it's falling at four inches per hour. They were snowed in together, she was a hard-core Catholic, he said it was the hardest weekend of his life.
He told me about his first time with a man. He was fourteen, the guy was forty.

He is a brilliant writer and biologist now. He has a lightning wit and he is a very grounded, empirical, and adjusted man. He told me that it was the most wonderful experience for him.

Knowing how developmentally advanced he always was, I imagine that any other fourteen year-old would not have been so lucky to a) be ready for such an experience, and b) have it with a non-scumbag.

I believe totally that it was the beautiful experience for him that he told me it was.


How could 'anyone' defend them?

Ask me how I could shoot women and children; "It's easy, you just lead 'em a little less".

The defense isn't difficult here, it's the will to defend these idiots you'll find lacking. That's fine with me.

I don't care how developmentally advanced he was he still was taken advantaged of by someone who was much older and should have known that having sex with someone that young was wrong.

10. Whatever you may judge, it is irrelevant to his own perspective.

He turned out to be one very decent human being, so I cannot call it a 'harmful' experience.

Since I don't know exactly who the older man was or what he understood of the situation, I cannot judge that either.

I can say that there is most certainly something wrong with an adult seeking sex with a sexually undeveloped minor, but attraction to other sexually developed people is hardwired by evolution.

I believe that in the vast majority of cases, the adult is a scumbag and the kid is manipulated. That means that I must be aware that it is possible for such a thing to be of no real harm... but damn bloody unlikely.

In our society, a person is considered a minor through the age of eighteen (for most purposes) for a reason. We have, as a society, agreed that the age of eighteen is a benchmark of development and reason. I believe it could be higher, but it is reasonable. Before that point, we have determined that a minor cannot make decisions on their own for a reason... and I absolutely agree with that establishment.

An adult that solicits sex from a minor is wholly responsible for that action, and should face charges.

And knowing my friend, I'm really not sure who may have been taking advantage of whom.

You know damn well that I'm not "cool with that." Come up with an honest argument.

What I am definitely not cool with is unaccountable non-transparent groups like Perverted Justice inserting themselves into law enforcement functions while continuing to completely hide their own actitivies. That's fascist in essence. Now, you may be "cool" with unaccountable groups going after child predators because they are child predators, but honest people understand that know class of criminal can be dealt with in such ways, or the legal system means nothing. And that's fascist, too.

5. LOL... actually, I agree.

What I should have said was, "I'm sitting here on the computer with TCAP on, and I see..."

The only 'news' channel I leave on is MSNBC. Most of the time the tube is on Comedy Central, Cartoon Network, or History Channel.

So far, I've caught bits and pieces of about three episodes of TCAP. Every time they pounce on the schmuck, it's like fingernails in a woodchipper.

It's entrapment, plain and simple.

Those schmucks are SOOOOOO dumb. There are two ridiculously simple things any of these idiots could do and wind up walking and/or suing the pants off MSNBC.

Other than that, these idiots are not, in fact, guilty of soliciting sex from a minor simply because the person acting as the minor is an adult working under the direction of law enforcement.

For all sufficiency, they were arrested for 'thought crime'.
