No, you idiots. When you treat Spanish people like trash with your harangue of Spanish people every day for 2 or more years, you're going to turn away Spanish people.
The Democrats don't have to recruit Spanish people using the immigrant issue. The REPUBLIKLAN party has done it to themselves. So if you work for the REPUBLIKLAN party or if you work for the main stream media the fault belongs to the REPUBLIKLAN party.
The Republiklan party and their media toadies want to falsely accuse the Democrats of exploiting this issue for political gain to staunch the abandonment of the Republiklan party by Spanish people.
So stop lying by saying that the Democrats only want Spanish people's votes.

1. (Pssst. It's spelled Republican) |
|
Also, I don't think it's Spanish people they're directing their hatred toward. It's the Mexicans.
But seriously, you're larger point is valid. Pete Wilson pretty effectively turned Californian from a dependably Republican state to a solid blue Democratic state. It would be funny, if it weren't for all the damage he did to the country in the process.

3. You'd think the Rethugs would have learned |

from their experiences in California -- after Pete Wilson & Prop 187, they couldn't even steal a Hispanic vote.

4. No, the anti Spanish followers of the party have ruined their own party. |
|
You see many issues get intertwined. Because many Republicans hate Spanish people, they undermine the corporate Republicans who like cheap labor, and no government regulation of business.
The leaders of their party pander to these Spanish hating people.
and no it does not appear just the hatred of Mexicans. Stupid redneck Republican Southerners who have no large Spanish population have trouble sleeping on their 12 mattresses because of the small pea under the first mattress at the bottom.

how the Democratic Senators though they could or could not benefit from supporting that disastrous immigration bill, but one thing for sure, if they seriously want immigration reform, much ground work needs to be done LONG BEFORE they start talking about increasing visa allotments, guest worker programs, and or paths to citizenship. As for the MSM and especially the Republics, they are both "afflicted", so anything they claim must be taken with a grain of salt!!!
