Hello Pal,
I hope my email meets you well. I am in need of your assistance. My name is Joey Jones. I am an American soldier serving in the military of the 1st Armored Division in Iraq, we have just been posted out of Iraq and to return in a short while. My colleague and I need your help to transfer out the sum of Twnety Five Mllion U.S Dollars (US25.0M).
The money which is now in the custody of a Security Company is part of the money we seized from late Saddam Hussein but was not declared. Right now I am in the Bagdad trying to sort out things with the Security Company to ensure a smooth and unhindered transfer of the money to you,Therefore be assured that the transfer is safe and risk free.
My colleague and I need a good partner someone we can trust to actualize this venture. But we are moving it through diplomatic means to your house directly or a safe and secured location of your choice using a shipping company. But can we trust you? Once the funds get to you, you take your 40% out and keep our own 60%. Your own part of this deal is to find a safe place where the funds can be sent to. Our own part is sending it to you.
If you are interested I will furnish you with more details,
Awaiting your urgent response.
Your Buddy.
Sgt Joey Jones.
God Bless America!!!!

2. I think we should complain to yahoo. seems to be a lot of these emails coming |
|
from that domain and the yahoo.com.uk ...
I think it's sickening that they would try to pose as a US Soldier and do this, especially one trying to smuggle out "spoils of war" profits or proceeds.

3. Joey Jones????? FFS can't they be at least a little creative? |
|
"I hope my email meets you well" Looks to me like the author learnt his English skills with the help of a textbook written in the first half of last century.
One thing I will say in this person's favour: Their spelling and grammar is a cut (or 99) above that of average 419er.

"My colleague and I need your help to transfer out the sum of Twnety Five Mllion U.S Dollars (US25.0M)."
Anyone who reads that and doesn't see that this is the new Nigeria email scam deserves to get their identity stolen.
Disclaimer: I do not advocate identity theft and would not wish to see it done to anyone...but I do not advocate stupidity and gullibility either.

5. Two typos and a couple of missing spaces. |
|
(of the fingers getting ahead of the brain variety)
Cripes, I often do worse than that in three lines.
This is the work of a Rhodes Scholar compared to the average 419er missive, not that that excuses anyone stupid enough to volunteer their services.
As I've said once or twice elsewhere: That's the tuition you pay when you enroll yourself in the school of hard knocks.
