Bush struggles with Pelosi and Reid
By BEN FELLER, Associated Press Writer
1 hour, 7 minutes ago

WASHINGTON - When President Bush invited lawmakers for a picnic, an approaching storm threatened to derail the event. His spokesman, Tony Snow, suggested that Democratic leaders in Congress secretly wanted it that way.

"They've been seeding the clouds," he said.

A little joke, a little suspicion. It seemed appropriate for Bush's relationship with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

In public, there are promises to work together, then unmistakable acrimony. Private dealings are respectful, but not fully trustful.

Where ill will seeps out between Bush and the two Democratic leaders, it is not based on personal animus, those close to them say. Rather, it is rooted in vastly different views of how to run the country, and how much say each side has in running it.

1. Bush, the Wannabe Hero, is flummoxed he cannot get his way still...His Feeble Brain cannot
comprehend the Loss of the House/Senate and what it means....

He thinks he is still in CONTROL..........only to discover through distasteful meetings/etc that he is not....The Dems have arrived...weak but nevertheless....a Force to Prod the BS out into the Open...

His latest ventures into press cons have revealed a Bush almost disconnected.....reduced to babbling at times, Bush seems to be losing marbles faster than can replaced...

Nancy and Reid closing in on the Checkmate?...A long way off yet?

Who knows.....?

But Bush/GOP gatta be sweating bullets

3. The nation is the big loser in this....
We have a president who is in denial, and refuses to face the realities, or doesn't want to. And we have a congress who wants to be cautious because of politics, when the population wants some spunk, and some representation.
