Bravo is doing New York now on TV, but they're about 15-20 minutes behind the stream. If you put on Bravo you'll be able to see Al again in a little while.

19. Actually it would have been a much "greener" event if they'd held it at Madison Square Garden.
MSG is easily accessible by train.

32. Probably because Giants Stadium has 76,000 seats and room for thousands more
on the field. I don't think the Garden holds more than about 20,000. Here is a link about the stadium...

39. You should be.
Why does everyone think The Meadowlands is located in New York? I can only guess it's because the Giants and Jets play their games there.

I was in the US Army (Washington, DC) and one the guys in our unit was from there. Attended a couple of races there, both USAC Indy car and NASCAR.

If they wanted to say it was in New York, they should have held it at Shea Stadium, Yankee Stadium, Madison Square Garden, or Nassau Coliseum.

17. These two paragraphs summerize very nicely why it pisses us off so much
"It seems like every time something great happens in the Garden State our neighbors to the North and West get the credit. But every time something bad happens, it turns New Jersey into a late night joke fest again.

This hurts our tourism, our ability to draw businesses, our economy, our reputation, etc. It's about time that New Jersey be respected as the great state it is."

35. The insult hasn't caused NJ..
to kick out the NEW YORK Giants or the NEW YORK Jets from the Meadowlands. Just sayin'

And today was Old Timers Day in the Bronx, which was probably put on their calendar before Live Earth was scheduled, even if they had wanted to hold it at the Stadium, which I doubt.

27. It is unbelievably petty of the guy at the blog to threaten not to vote for Gore because
Edited on Sat Jul-07-07 02:49 PM by IndyOp
the concert organizers decided to say NY instead of NJ.

150,000 people are dying each year due to the effects of global warming.

I don't care one whit if they correctly identify my city or not - just DO something about this crisis.

The overall impression: People from New Jersey are petty.

I grew up in St. Louis - not really - it was Fenton.
I went to grad school in San Francisco - not really - it was Berkeley.

Whatever helps people who don't live there recognize the general location.

New Jersey <-

30. How much does it help the crisis to hold the event at a venue not easily accessible by
mass transportation? They should have chosen Madison Square Garden, people can get there by train AND it's actually IN NY!
