Rapture ready board: Don't forget to pray during Live Earth!!!!!!! GLOBAL WHINING!
I thought I would venture over to the Rapture ready board to see if they thought they will be sucked into the sky today being it's 07-07-07... instead I found this treasure trove of Gore-bashing and 'faith-filled' denial of climate change. And they are so NASTY about it too. They're quite a sorry group of people.

=================================================================================
I know we are going to be praying during the Hindu opening of congress, but I realized today that we need to be praying tomorrow during the Al Gore brainchild Live Earth concert.

For those of you who do not know what it is, it is 9 locations on the earth with big name bands in all genre of music playing what is considered one whole 24 hour concert to raise awareness and consciousness about Global Whining, oops, *Warming* (my bad). My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, the Plain of Shinar is being inaguarated tomorrow...

We need to stand firm as believers in Jesus Christ and His sure judgments coming soon, and as watchers of His Return here on this board, we need to quietly, lovingly and patiently let our Dear Saviour know that we do not partake in this world's rebellion and that we declare His righteousness and judgments are what we have bowed the knee to in this generation. Selah...in Christ....

====

I feel that everyone should do their share of recycling and conserving. But this whole global warming issue is completely bonkers.

The biggest supporters are the elite and Hollywood, who are the biggest abusers of energy consumption. If this isn't hypocrisy, then tell me what is.

Anything and everything that Hollywood is for, I have to question. They are not my leader and they do not speak for me. I shun Hollywood as much as possible. The only global warming they should be worried about is:

1) a dirty bomb going off in Los Angeles
2) spending eternity in Hell if they do not accept Christ as they savior.
====

Come on everyone, give Al Gore a break. After inventing the internet, he has to be up to something new
====

I heard a popular radio show host confront one of the Rothschild on air today about it. Apparently one of the Rothschild kids is a big part of this and one of the big bankrollers of it. I'm not entirely sure what to think about the global warming thing but it's pretty clear that it's being used for something manipulative.

We definitely need to pray...

====

God has promised that He will judge the earth. The changes in the earth's weather patterns and whatnot are His doing, not man's. It is rejection of God to...

1) Think that mankind is responsible for the earth's changes,
2) think that by banding together as one we can save the planet by changing the weather, and
3) it is is rebellion to try and prevent the world from flooding when God directly promised He would never flood the earth again.

It is what Peter was talking about when he referred to men in the Last Days being willfully ignorant of the flood that once was, and thereby scoffing at the promise of God's judgment with fire and righteous indignation upon an ungodly world. Global Warming is the New Tower of Babel, the cry of man striving to be as one voice and unite against the Creator who has once and for all declared the Truth about salvation and where this world is headed. If you see it any other way, then I cannot really help you change your mind...only the Lord can reveal it to you.

I'd say Sweet Merciful Christ, please call them home already, but they're too entertaining to be taken from us!

2. Evidently a Hindu prayer will open a congressional session...
...and they are all hopping mad about that:

Kapurthala, July 6: History will be created when Rajan Zed, a Hindu chaplain, will read Hindu prayer at the opening of the US Senate in Washington on July 12.

This will be the first time any Hindu prayer will be delivered in the US Senate since its formation in 1789.

When it was just a few people huddling in catacombs,
it really didn't matter whether they respected the
Earth or not.

The problem with *NEARLY ALL THE OLD RELIGIONS* is
that their theologies were devised in a time when
humans were few, huddled, and scared shitless that
they'd be eaten by something lurking in the dark.
Nowadays, the whole world has changed, but we still
try to apply the fantastic beliefs that were codified
(ossified?) millenia ago.

It's time to wholly re-write all the holy books and
edit-out a lot of the old paranoia and tribalism.

17. These Dominionist Busheep don't even understand their own Bible.
In Genesis, God actually tells mankind to be the stewards of His creation and take care of it. The word "dominion" in the King James translation is misinterpreted as "domination". As in ... "go out and rape the planet. Exploit the resources. Do whatever you want. We're gonna get raptured anyway and who cares if the heathen libruls have any air to breathe"

But this is actually what the passage in Genesis means (from "The Message")

Genesis 26-28 God spoke: "Let us make human beings in our image, make them
reflecting our nature
So they can be responsible for the fish in the sea,
the birds in the air, the cattle,
And, yes, Earth itself,
and every animal that moves on the face of Earth."
God created human beings;
he created them godlike,
Reflecting God's nature.
He created them male and female.
God blessed them:
"Prosper! Reproduce! Fill Earth! Take charge!
Be responsible for fish in the sea and birds in the air,
for every living thing that moves on the face of Earth."

And in Revelation, we find this........

Revelation 11:18 Reward small and great who fear your Name,
and destroy the destroyers of earth.

So literally, from one end of "God's Word" to the other, the LORD HIMSELF commands His creations to take care of the planet. What part of that don't the Dominionist Dumbfucks understand??

25. It's sad that people feel this way. I believe these
folks are a vocal minority of fundie Christians. The director of my department at work said her daughter and son in law are getting into environmentalism and organic food. They came to this via their infant daughter who has severe food allergies. They decided to take on a vegan diet for themselves since this is how their daughter must eat.

They are composting as well.

I told my director, well, you are talking to the wrong person if you want someone to say they are going overboard. I applaud them.

Her daughters were raised in a mega church in suburban St Louis MO.

The children of those who turned to fundie christianity as teens or young adults in the late 70s and 80s are going to be NOTHING like their parents. I see this first hand. They are partly in "the world" and partly in "the spirit." Because being a fundie is so "normal" to them they see no reason to eschew opportunities out there. Sure there are the wingnuts of Liberty and Regents Univ but they are a minority.

40. There's a little bit of mathematics involved in fundie apocalyptic teaching.
Jesus said that to look for His return at the time when the "gentiles" no longer controlled Jerusalem, and that the generation which witnessed that, would witness the "end of the world".

Israel gained control of Jerusalem in 1967 (though that control is certainly disputed) and a "generation" in the way the Hebrews used it, meant about 40 years. 1967 + 40 = 2007.

Consequently, the fundies have been expecting the Rapture this year like no other.

But they forgot something else that Jesus said. That no man would know the day or the hour, and that even He didn't know. It was something that His Dad was keeping all to Himself.

Fundie suicidal nutcases always have a reason to believe that NOW is the time for the end of the world.

They are like the family annihilator - they want to kill themselves, but only if they can take the rest of us with them.

I can buy the 2007 arguemnt = the 1977 arguement = the fundie Baptist preacher who told me, at age 13, that I would not see 30 (still looking for him to explain why I'm 47)

Edited on Sun Jul-08-07 12:23 AM by AZBlue
The part about Hollywood's "concern" for the environment being hypocritical. It's true. Not when you get down to the individual level of Hollywood's well-known denizens. I believe in the commitment of Larry and Laurie David, Sheryl Crow, Melissa Etheridge, Dave Matthews, Sting, Leonardo DiCaprio, and so on. However, on a corporate level, well, studios are some of the biggest culprits when it comes to wasting our precious resources (and all to make dozens of stupid movies for 17 year old male gamers, but that's another rant). There are the exceptions - the 2007 broadcast of the Academy Awards is one that stands out in my mind - but for the most part, they really need to get it together. And, it bothers me when they pretend to be green just to be part of the movement - but I let it slide to some extent because I figure it is at least spreading the message. Perhaps we all need to start holding them more accountable though.

I just figure, they do what they can, and I do what I can. Everybody does their share. I try to live as close to "green" as I can, and I believe the celebs do what they can, too. It still adds up to a helluva lot more than these folks. One thing they forget it that they were told (by the bible) to be good stewards of the earth. Doesn't sound like they read that verse.

49. Christ will return as the lion, not the lamb, according to John's revelation
And if he has to come back as a lion in hip-waders, he's probably gonna be EXTRA pissed.

60. Christ did return as the lion.
Christ did return as the lion. But, unfortunately,
the lion was captured, brought to one of those
"wild game" hunting parks, and shot by a Funda-
mentalist Christian Right-Wing Republican.

Cést la vie, hein?

51. I like the part about Rothschild being "a big part of this"
Edited on Mon Jul-09-07 01:48 AM by goodgd_yall
What that is all about is a loony conspiracy by the "Illuminati." From Wikipedia:

"Members of the Rothschild family figure in some conspiracy theories. In Illuminati conspiracy theories, they are portrayed as one of thirteen dynastic bloodlines that secretly rule the world. New World Order conspiracy theories present the Rothschilds, along with the Rockefellers and DuPonts, as the real rulers or would-be rulers of the world."

<snip>

"Extreme cults also support Rothschild conspiracy theories, often espousing severe anti-semitism. One such organization, the Necedah Shrine Cult, has Mary Ann Van Hoof supposedly receiving visions from the Virgin Mary telling her that the Rothschilds are "mongrel yids (Jews)" bent on imposing world domination through international banking and the work of their 'satanic secret society'."

Substitute James Dobson for Jerry Falwell and you get the idea.

59. God's supporters are as nasty as Bush's.
What a blast of hatred! It takes a religious person to exhibit the combination of cluelessness and hysteria seen here (and elsewhere).

I would feel sorry for these people if they weren't endangering my country.

63. "For those of you who do not know, it is 9 locations" - these folks really DO live under rocks!
I also like how they ALWAYS, ALWAYS recycle the tired, old, debunked "Al Gore invented the internet" line.

64. Hypocrisy? I'll Show You Hypocrisy!
Hollywood is evil until a Narnia, Lord of the Rings, The Passion, or now Evan Almighty comes out. Then it is good, and Hollywood is praised. But how many of these Christians do you see NOT going to the movies?

And this gem: "The biggest supporters are the elite and Hollywood, who are the biggest abusers of energy consumption." And your huge trucks and SUVs we see parked in megachurch parking lots (esp. here in the south) ARE NOT?

I say back to them: "If this isn't hypocrisy, then tell me what is."
