There's a giant pig flying in Giants Stadium - LiveEarth NY
Edited on Sat Jul-07-07 09:37 PM by BattyDem

On edit: Giants Stadium is actually in NJ, but since the LiveEarth web site is identifying the location as NY, I said NY in my thread title. I didn't want DUers who were unfamiliar with the NY/NJ location confusion to go crazy searching the LiveEarth site for an NJ feed. ;-)

10. AHHH!!! Despite what some stations seem to think, Giants Stadium
is NOT in NY. The concert is NOT happening in NY.

That's NEW JERSEY folks!

Man, that drives me up the wall.

(Not yelling at you, just caught your post after seeing the graphics announcing this concert was happening in NY.)

14. I don't know, ticks me off. Like the Giants. Why are they called
the NY Giants when they practice and play in NJ?

It's like NJ doesn't exist except as some sort of appendage to NY. Bah humbug to that one.

He passed away before I was old enough to wonder whether he was serious or being ironic... (He had grown up on SI).

her family went 'way back - to pre-revolution

her mother married a man from Jersey City

her family were all aghast that she was actually interested in someone from out in the wilderness, or whatever they thought was on the other side of the Hudson

22. Some are saying New Jersey and
some are saying New York and some are saying both.

One leader said "Giant Stadium in New Jersey just west of New York".

So close down there like that whole Statue Of Liberty thingy.

25. You should have seen the pig he flew at his concert in St. Paul last week
It had things written on it such as "All religions divide", "Habeas Corpus matters", "Civilized Nations don't torture", "Fear builds walls", but best of all right on the pigs butt the words "Impeach Bush" were written with an arrow pointing to it that said "what an asshole". Even though the pig was bigger than my car I wanted to bring it home with me.

29. Actually, It's Pissed Me The Fuck Off All Day That They Keep Saying NY. It's Utter Bullshit.
And though to a lesser degree, it pisses me off a little to see several DU threads calling it NY too. But at least in yours you acknowledged Jersey.

31. I'm from Jersey, so I know where the stadium is, but ...
don't be too hard on other DUers. The LiveEarth web site listed the location as "USA - NY" so of course the posts say "NY"

Unless a person is from the NY/NJ area, they probably wouldn't know where the stadium is located. It's called "Giants Stadium" but even the team is called the NY Giants! :eyes:

I agree with you - it pisses me off, too. I don't why they have to pretend to be in NY. What's wrong with us?

35. It's Actually Becoming A Trend.
I don't get it either.

On a few reality shows (america's got talent etc) they'd have auditions in Jersey and call it NY too. WTF?

Shit, Jersey gets enough crap. At least give us our credit where it's due right? :)

30. Gotta Put The Lyrics With The Pig...Might Be Someone We Know...
"Pigs (Three Different Ones)"

Big man, pig man, ha ha, charade you are
You well heeled big wheel, ha ha, charade you are
And when your hand is on your heart
You're nearly a good laugh
Almost a joker
With your head down in the pig bin
Saying "keep on digging"
Pig stain on your fat chin
What do you hope to find?
When you're down in the pig mine
You're nearly a laugh
You're nearly a laugh
But you're really a cry.
Bus stop rat bag, ha ha, charade you are
You fucked up old hag, ha ha, charade you are
You radiate cold shafts of broken glass
You're nearly a good laugh
Almost worth a quick grin
You like the feel of steel
You're hot stuff with a hat pin
And good fun with a hand gun
You're nearly a laugh
You're nearly a laugh
But you're really a cry.
Hey you Whitehouse, ha ha, charade you are
You house proud town mouse, ha ha, charade you are
You're trying to keep our feelings off the street
You're nearly a real treat
All tight lips and cold feet
And do you feel abused?
.....!.....!.....!.....!
You gotta stem the evil tide
And keep it all on the inside
Mary you're nearly a treat
Mary you're nearly a treat
But you're really a cry
