Would Bloomberg be a smart choice for a Dem VP
It is is given that since Clinton and Bloomberg are from the same sate they could not run as a ticket. but taking that out of the equation for the moment do you think Bloomberg on a Democratic ticket would make political sense?

Would he take the number two slot? Which Dem would most benefit from him being on the ticket?

1. LOL! There was just a news story that came out this week saying
tht he reassured his state GOP that he would still support them however he could--so, no--bad choice.

12. Arrggh! I know I read that this week --
but I can't for the life of me remember where. I have been looking, and if I find the link I will post it. If true (and I believe it is), then his becoming independent is a totally calculated move to run for Prez, and he will take a GOPer running mate--that might be good for us.

30. Here you go:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=102&topic_id=2906259

He apparently is the single biggest supporter of the NYS GOP and has personally assured them that ain't gonna change now that he's "Independent."
This matters since Spitzer and company are trying to take back the NYS Senate which is down to a 2 vote GOP majority, lead by the vile Joseph Bruno.

7. I think we have enough very capable Dems to take
the VP slot when it opens up. We don't need any help from skunks of a different stripe.

10. no, i'd rather have a democrat as the VP. and I don't think any dem would benefit
from picking him over the wealth of qualified democratic candidates we'll have available.

11. BLOOMBERG WAS A LIFELONG DEM UNTIL HIS RACE FOR MAYOR!
he switched parties because so many were in the dem field ..and he couldn't get nominated for mayor in the dem party!

remember this..at the Tribecca film festival in NY ABOUT 2-3 MONTHS AGO..BLOOMBERG INTRODUCED GORE..and the Inconvienient Truth film..in the introduction Bloomberg begged Gore to run for president...he begged him publically at the film festival!! at the podium in Tribecca which is right next to ground zero!

Bloomberg may not be able to run as vp..but he has already said he would put up 500 million to run..

President Gore ..meet Bloomberg's money!!

the Bloomberg that is the best connected guy to Wallstreet!!

the Bloomberg that can finance a Presidential run ... all by himself..and has been a lifelong democrat!!

the Bloomberg that spent 85 million to become mayor of NY ..the most ever spent to become a mayor in this nations history!!

BLOOMBERG CAN SAY IS IS RETHUG..BUT HE IS A LIFELONG DEM..don't forget that..and he has all the money of god!!

if i have to pick someone in my cabinet to fix the finanical mess in this country ..if i am coming into the white house..the one guy i want on my side is Bloomberg!!

fly

"Perhaps the most helpful piece of information I can impart is Bloomberg's favorite pet expression. It may just be the key to his success, too. It's something he tells colleagues to make sure they don't let him down. It's a four-word statement, or warning: "Don't f*** it up!""

I like Bloomberg.

22. He seems OK--I can't hate someone whose motto is, "Don't fuck it up".
However, I am afraid that he will be our Perot in '08. I guess we'll have to see how he plays in Peoria.

24. What's wrong with having a favorite "pet" Repub? We're all Americans--
we're not THAT different, although right now, because of ChimpCo and the war, the D's and R's are farther apart than usual. I can like someone from the other side of the aisle, there's no shame in that. In fact, to win an election, getting people from the other party to vote for you is a requirement--I am glad that Repubs seem to like Obama.

18. No. What does he add? from NY, Jewish, socially liberal
The only way he might help is if Rudy is the GOP nominee and NY looks tight. But generally speaking the Dems should have the NY/liberal/Jewish vote locked up.

27. The switch to Repub, and then Indie, reinforces the fact that he seems to have few
political convictions--and that he's very calculating. Agree with you, he may not be trustworthy.
