What Bobby Kennedy Said
from live earth:

"as you've heard today a lot of people say there are many little things that you all can do to avert climate change on your own. but i will tell you this: it is more important than buying compact fluorescent light bulbs or than buying a fuel efficient automobile; the most important thing you can do is to get involved in the political process and get rid of all these rotten politicians that we have in washington d.c. who are nothing more than corporate toadies for companies like exxon and southern company--these villainous companies that consistently put their private financial interest ahead of american interest and ahead of the interest of all of humanity. this is treason and we need to start treating them now as traitors."

13. There was a fascinating letter to the (UK) Daily Mail written by a Helen Jarvis,
Edited on Sun Jul-08-07 02:48 PM by KCabotDullesMarxIII
recently on the subject of the TB vaccine.

"Vaccine myth

Why perpetuate the myth that vaccination stops people getting TB (Good Health)?

To credit the vaccine with the decline of TB is ridiculous - the death rate had dropped from 4,000 per million in 1838 to less than 200 per million before the vaccine was used in the Fifties.

In the world's largest and only double-blind trial of the vaccine against a dummy vaccine. TB was higher in the vaccinated group than the control group. The Lancet study of 83,000 people vaccinated against TB showed no benefit whatsoever, and Holland has the lowest death rate from TB in Europe, with no BCG programme.

What is important, as Louis Pasteur realised, is the health of the immune system, which is designed to fend off any challenge, not just one specific bacteria. Today's major illnesses are almost all immune system malfunctions."

There has been a lot of angry controversy in the UK about parents being pressured by Blair's Government to have their children vaccinated with the MMR vaccine (combining vaccines against measels, mumps and rubella). It's cheaper for our National Health Service than individual vaccines. I believe Cherie Blair refused to answer whether their children had been given it.

In the light of the article linked below, the French woman's statement quoted by a DUer that we are afraid of our politicians, while in France, the politicians are afraid of the people, seems particularly significant; particularly bearing in mind that, in France, a minister who knowingly gave instructions for a batch of blood known to be infected with HIV, was imprisoned.

47. Here is some more on the subject of the MMR jabs in today's Daily Mail:
Edited on Mon Jul-09-07 11:44 AM by KCabotDullesMarxIII
I couldn't find a link on their website.

"Autism level 'is twice as high as doctors believed'
by Daniel Martin
Health Reporter

Almost twice as many children in Britain could have autism than previously thought, researchers say.

A study has found that as many as one in 58 may have some form of the condition - well above the widely-accepted existing estmate of one in 100."

Apparently the leader of the study, Simon Baron-Cohen (no, don't laugh!) "said the higher figure was not linked to Autism." (Now you can laugh).

"However, the article continues a little further down, "two members of his team are understood to privately believe that the triple vaccination may be to blame for the rise."

(snip)

"However, two of the seven-strong team, Dr Fiona Scott and Dr Carol Stott - said the jab which is given at 12 or 15 months could be a factor in small numbers of children."

32. If something's in the Daily Mail, I'm afraid it's almost certainly wrong
Extremely right-wing and hate-filled (full of hate campaigns against asylum seekers, single parents, etc.); also they do have a vendetta against vaccinations.

TB vaccines aren't 100% effective by any means, and they do have unpleasant short-term side-effects, but they are better than nothing if you live somewhere where TB is a risk, especially in these days when there are so many antibiotic-resistant cases of TB. It is difficult nowadays to do a suitable study, because people are more likely to *get* the vaccination if they live somewhere where there is a risk of TB. Holland presumably doesn't have the vaccine because the TB rate is low, rather than the TB rate being low because/ in spite of people not getting the vaccine. If you live somewhere where TB isn't much of a risk, and don't plan to travel, then I would agree that it might not be worth getting the vaccine. But TB rates certainly went down after the vaccine was introduced.

There is little evidence that individual vaccines have fewer side-effects than one MMR vaccine; though I agree that people who wish to have individual vaccines should have the right to it.

27. To those who would criticize RFK on this issue
I have at least one child who sustained some damage from their vaccinations possibly both of my younger children. My middle son has been diagnosed with PDD NOS (not otherwise specified) and my youngest son has a reading disability never diagnosed but I believe it's dyslexia. My oldest son born 10 years earlier before they added more vaccinations containing Mercury has no learning or behavioral problems. I have spent countless hours working with them to overcome their difficulties which has made it virtually impossible for me to
have a job outside of the home. I am happy to say that my son with PDD is in his second year of high school where he has continuously been on the honor roll and he is completely off all medications. We went through hell fighting with the schools and doctors to get them to this point.

My main point however, is that this phenomenon of increased numbers of children with autism and other learning disabilities directly coincides with the increase in vaccines that contained Mercury. These vaccines contained levels of mercury that are considered unsafe for adults plus mercury depresses the immune system at the same time they are injecting the child with three live viruses. Infants having no blood brain barrier makes it even easier for mercury to cross into the nervous system where it stays for the child's entire life. Mercury poisoning is the only health condition that has the exact
symptoms as Autism.

Why would some children display more severe symptoms then others? There is a protein which helps rid the body of heavy metals, the production of this protein is regulated by one of our genes and some researchers have found that in some individuals this production is turned down or even off in other individuals. These individuals are therefore more susceptible to damage by any heavy metal then the majority of the public would be.

It is completely unconscionable that drug companies would have ever put such a dangerous chemical in vaccinations and that is was approved by the FDA. The effects of mercury poisoning are well known and parents should have at least been given the facts about these dangers and a choice to pay extra to give their children mercury free vaccinations. I could not take the chance that my children would sustain further damage if they received the booster to enter junior high so I opted my children out of receiving it. We worked too hard for them to finally overcome most of their problems to risk them having any relapses or regression.

It is this disregard for safety by drug companies that has made people weary of vaccinating their children. I know many educators who won't let their own children receive vaccinations.

31. My kids got sick from those booster shots
My daughters were born in 1983 and 1986, and the initial vaccinations didn't seem to affect them. But a while after getting booster shots for middle school, each, three years apart, of them came down with a chronic fatigue or mono type illness that kept them out of school for much of 7th grade. The doctors never could figure out what was wrong, despite numerous tests. I never thought about the vaccine connection until recently.

I suspect the vaccines had something to do with it. Neither did quite as well in school afterward, either, although both were excellent students in elementary school.

Good luck to you in your battle to deal with your childrens' conditions

8. He speaks for me
Its nice to hear someone speaking frankly for a change instead of making excuses or lying.

These are very dangerous times and we need the leadership to turn things around and set our country to rights again.
And if our leaders can't get it done, we have to be prepared to do it ourselves.

Global change and health care - two important issues we have to address now before its too late.

We have to take charge.

The guy is just smarter, more reasonable, and more eloquent than any of the weasels who want to crown corporate profits king.

That's what they are all doing in the big media now--sucking up the corporate money and spewing out the corporate message so the people don't know what the f*ck is going on.

That's why they never have Robert F. Kennedy on any of those talk shows like Meet The Press, This Week, or Face the Nation. He would expose, unmask, bare the hypocrisy--not only of the guests, like Condoleezza Rice or Bob Novak--but of the hosts, too. Can you imagine him going toe to toe with Sean Hannity or Bill O'Reilly? What about Chris Matthews? It'll never happen because Kennedy would EXPOSE THOSE LYING hypocrites for the sleazy money grubbing traitors they really are!
