The Insurance Companies propaganda campaign against Sicko prove Michael Moore right |
|
It seems as though the HMOs have plenty of money to try and debunk what Moore is saying, right?
Why aren't they using this money to investigate what he is saying and improve their services instead?

1. They keep bringing out the same old worn arguments |
|
which have already been debunked many times over.

3. Because it's all about the golden parachutes and pleasing the shareholders? |
|
Unless and until we completely de-corporatize the American health insurance system, it will be about nothing but turning a yearly profit. And if debunking Sicko costs less than stopping the practice of denying health care, then people are going to hear plenty of propaganda against Sicko and fuckall with their health.

4. I've seen far too many posts on this board saying |
|
either the poster won't see the movie or didn't like the movie because it wasn't balanced.
I suspect these people are trolls, but they're subtle enough that the warrant a response instead of an alert.
FWIW, Moore did contact the insurance giants during filming to tell their side. They all flatly refused and went so far as to post guards so that their staffs could not be interviewed.

7. That ticks me off to no end |

The health care industry spends billions on PR and advertising companies whose job it is to spread their propaganda. They buy their own Congresspeople to make sure their interests are a priority in legislation. They don't need Michael Moore to help them.
Meanwhile, who out there is speaking for families who have to put a fucking donation jar on a convenience store counter to help pay for their 3-year-old's leukemia treatments? Who is speaking for Americans who have to decide whether to seek treatment for depression or a pain that won't go away or two years of diarrhea because they're rightly afraid that if they do they'll never be able to get health insurance again? Who is looking out for their interests and putting their message into the public eye?

5. Something that the MSM might want to look at, perhaps they can |
|
find what's left of their conscience here...
www.iatrogenic.org . . . "If we value personal freedom and dignity, we should, in confronting the moral dilemmas of biology, genetics, and medicine, insist that the expert's allegiance to the agents and values he serves be made explicit and that the power inherent in his specialized knowledge and skill not be accepted as justification for his exercising specific control over those lacking such knowledge and skill."
