Is there even a point in engaging Bush supporters?
Edited on Sun Jul-08-07 06:14 PM by Rosemary2205
I'm not the kind of person who just writes people off. I'm happy to live with a difference of opinion as long as folks aren't habitually abusive. But really, when you have 24% of Americans still backing Bush's every move and post things like the following -- how can you not be tempted to just view them as less than human good for nothing but flamebait playthings? It really upsets me that these people bring out in me the secret desire to see them wiped off the face of the earth for the good of the planet and the good of mankind.

Lady beer keg butt & B Hussien Obbbama will take this country in a direction we really have no conception of how far left. If you think you have lost rights (which I don't) under Bush try to imagine another clinton in the white house with a d'rat congress.

I will take any of the GOP cancicates (even McLame) over any of the d'rats.

Of course ElQaeda is pulling for the d'rats.

given that since President Bush cannot run for re-election for a 3rd term of office he does not have to give a damn what the Worthless-O-Crats want. ......

I have no problem with that ((This administration can thumb it's nose at any law it chooses and never be held accountable.)) And I hope he does exactly that.

It is proven the dumbascracks are waging a war against God. This homo teacher has to be another Hillary carpet muncher who want to convert the class to her preverted lyfesyle. Instead of Homochusettes harboring these freaks we should be passing laws to arrest them for sodomy and lockign them into sanatareaums for the good of America. These people need to understand why presisent Bush was elected to bring DOMA into law in all 50 sttes.

2. No.
It's a waste of energy that's much better used for positive action.

Anyone who still supports BushCorp at this point is so self-deluded and/or so sociopathic as to be beyond reason.

3. Not the ones you listed, no
I think the DE author may be more honest about the bush administration than the others, but since he openly approves of lawlessness when bush does it, there's no reason to engage. Just remember that post for when he gets all "law & order" about everyone else.

4. There's a difference between posters on the internet and real people
I know a lot of Republicans, and I talk with them frequently. One has a framed photo of himself and his wife with Bush, and they can't say a kind word about Bill Clinton (in fact, the wife was mad when they went to a reception and shook hands with Bill because Clinton didn't make a pass at her so she could slap him!). They are probably a lost cause. But I convinced a member of the local GOP to vote for Kerry in 2004 and for the Dems in 2006 (helps when that person knows our conman and knows he is an idiot). And I've convinced another couple to go Libertarian instead of GOP in 2004, and it is just going to take a little bit to get them going over to the impeachment camp.

If you know a person, know their interests and where they are coming from, you can talk to them-watch their body language, and know if they can be coaxed from the dark side.

On the internet, people are cloaked in anonymity, and it is harder to convince them of anything. They also tend to write things that they would never say to your face--kindly keep that in mind.

8. Exhibit "A" Rosemary
They don't even see that the "hands tied" argument they're using on Iraq is just a recycled version of the excuse for losing Vietnam. Despite having killed millions in Vietnam, and possibly a million in Iraq already.

Better off to ask people to spend an hour a month contacting DC. I think the bigger problem is most people don't understand their voice really does matter.

13. Rosemary is right on target.
She asks, "Is there any reason to engage with Bush supporters?"

You illustrate that there is no point.

People are, of course, able to state their own opinions, as are we.

Democrats didn't create "the rules of engagement" that you refer to. Of couse Bush didn't cause Katrina--but he is responsible for the nightmarish treatment and lack of action that followed and continues to this day. The rest of your diatribe is simply bigoted and childish.

For the record, Mr. Bush and his administration have destroyed much of what was good and just in this country, and they should be treated as such. As traitors.

22. Why can't you Republicans spell?
It's spelled, "OPINION." There are not two "p's" in the word.

And, "Democrat" is noun. "Democratic" is an adjective. Therefore, you should say that you don't believe in any "Democratic" values. Honestly, you make yourself sound like a stupid, uneducated idiot when you mock Rush and Hannity and call it the Democrat Party.

Oh, and I wouldn't vote for George W. Bush for any amount of money. He's absolutely ruined this country and eviscerated the middle class.

This guy's post was a perfect example of why we should have IQ tests before letting people vote.
Seriously, don't these people realize how simplistic and silly they are to post such mindless drivel here? They do "their side" no favors trying to defend their Party here with posts like that...they just reaffirm what we already know - you got to be an idiot to vote against your best interests.
