Anyone complaining about someone running for congress, a question for you...
Are you going to run instead or also? Why run anyone down who wants to run and challenge someone who they feel is not representing them? Why not run yourself if you don't feel someone is representing you?

Aside from possibility of splitting the vote, once the general election comes around most people will not vote for the fringe people anyways. Why now, way before the election, why complain that someone is talking about challenging an incumbent?

1. Nothing wrong with people who want to challange those holding
power

But your statement below is inaccurate...

<snip>
most people will not vote for the fringe people anyways.

We all predicted the Ralph Nadar would have no impact on the elections.....we were wrong...oh how wrong we were.

2. True. That part is inaccurate, just written in the heat of the moment of
reading GD and rolling my eyes again. Me, run for office? Hell no. I'm not that, hmmm, egotistical? strong? courageous? Yes, fringe people can have an effect, I'm just tired of the bashing, you know? Wish more people would run rather than bash. I have a lot of respect for people who are willing to put themselves out there. I need to not read this stuff here right now. sorry and thanks.

5. No worries...I am tired of the bashing too...
We do have to light a fire under Nancy...I don't know why whe is holding back....and if it takes Cindy to light that fire....I don't consider it blackmail....I consider it a wake up call....

And I think more people would run if the money wasn't such a huge issue...

Log off and Have a good evening! I am gettig ready to do the same...

3. i wish more non rich people would run, i have no problem with her running
why would anybody--i mean really, she runs, great and if she doesn't than she doesn't. My rep sucks the big one and a regular Joe ran in his place, a guy who is a doctor and also a combat veteran and a member of veterans for sanity and he got like 35% of the vote--it was his first time out with no name id and he did well, sure he didn't win but damn he came close.

4. If more people ran and had real ballot access, YOU ALL
would have more leverage with your own candidates.

6. In the primary there is absolutely nothing wrong but
once a candidate has the democratic nomination, there is no excuse for a person who calls them selves a democrat to run as an independent etc, it will only split the vote and give the spot to the republicans. And I don't care who the person is, they are doing a dis service to this country by doing that. Look at Liberman.

7. Let sheehan run she will get her ass kicked
She is no threat at all, it will be a humiliating defeat.

but I do agree this is perfectly reasonable for anyone to challenge an incumbent if they are unhappy with them.

8. So people who love Sheehan running
can say anything they want, but people who criticize her have to run for Congress themselves before they're allowed to? Sorry, that's stupid.

If Sheehan wants to run as an independent against a Dem, she's got every right to. However, DemocraticUnderground probably won't give her much cover.
