Are the RW'ers celebrating another straw-man victory?
If you remember, the Freepers and other RW'ers countered an Anti-War protest by forming an event called a "Gathering of Eagles", they said they were planning to protect the memorial to the dead of the Vietnam War from 'vandals'. No vandals showed up, and instead of saying that there was never any vandal plot, they instead said that there really was a victory over the hippies.

This thing over the Fairness Doctrine seems to be another one of those false victories. It was well known that this wasn't going to go far, but yet it seems like some of the RW'ers are celebrating.

Pretty sad that this is what they have been reduced to, but if their straw-man victories aren't debunked on a continual basis, then it might appear to some people that this New Right Conservatism is not on it's deathbed, but still a viable ideology.

1. If these penis-nosed idiots can gather 3 people for a protest
they consider it a great victory.

2. Gathering of Turkeys is a silly, silly group
They strutted their stuff in Philly recently and tried to pick fights with "longhairs". They scared a couple of people enough to call for the world-reknowned Philadelphia gendarmerie who arrived wielding coffee and donuts. Making sure that the Gathering of Turkeys didn't wet themselves or passers-by.

Y'know, to be a patriot, you have to do a little bit more than stand around whining about hippies.

6. Oh!! If only it would have been "A gathering of Beagles"
perhaps they could have hunted down the perps.
