CONYERS: Re: Exec Privilege "Contrary To What WH Believes-It Is Congress & Courts That Will Decide"
Chairman Conyers Responds to White House Refusal to Justify Blanket Privilege Claims
July 9th, 2007 by Jesse Lee

Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers released the following statement in response to a letter from the White House in which the White House reiterates its intentions to assert executive privilege, without providing justification for the privilege claim as requested by the Committee:

“We are extremely disappointed with the White House letter. While we remain willing to negotiate with the White House, they adhere to their unacceptable all-or-nothing position, and now will not even seek to properly justify their privilege claims. Contrary what the White House may believe, it is the Congress and the Courts that will decide whether an invocation of Executive Privilege is valid, not the White House unilaterally.”

3. bush quote that reveals his mindset
"I'm the commander -- see, I don't need to explain -- I do not need to explain why I say things. That's the interesting thing about being the president. Maybe somebody needs to explain to me why they say something, but I don't feel like I owe anybody an explanation." GW Bush

15. He is not going to leave on his own accord. We will have to make him
leave. One congressman has expressed his fear that bush will not leave in 2009 if the election has a Democratic winner.

4. First......national security
how can they claim that for the firing of the attornys...You mean to tell me firing those attorneys was a National Security issue. That's the only reason bush could give for not letting these people testify.

One thing. The house only has to impeach....the senate votes for guilty or not guilty. The have enough votes to impeach. BUT. Since the senate won't find him guilty, what they could do to make sure bush and cheney are punished is when the new president (and we know damn well they will be a democrat) and when the senate gets more democrats, even after bush and cheney leave office they can be impeached. Then with enough votes in the senate they can find them guilty...And get this they can be sentenced to jail something that would be harder to do if they were still in office.

13. K&R I just hope
they start legal proceedings soon. The court may be in the administrations pocket, but the publicity of their arrogance and ignoring the law needs to be all over the MSM - I can dream, anyway.

A Criminal Cabal is running America and the Courts are very much a part of it..You leave it up to Criminals to decide whether they are criminals or not and I pretty much guarantee you that the ruling will be the Democrats are terrorists.. IMPEACH it is the only real solution..
