You know, I am seriously considering registering republican...
...so that I can vote for GHOULIANI in the GOP primary.

Because NOTHING would give me more pleasure than to see that jowly old sleazebag lobbyist, the completely classless Fred Thompson lose the nomination.

The scum at the RW sites are so enamored of him at this point that it's completely pathetic.

Of course after the primary I would re-register as a democrat again...

2. Here, we can vote for any candudate
And we don't have to change affiliation. I want the pleasure of voting for the candidate I believe is close to my values.

The Republicans can hang an anvil around their own necks. :D

7. That's how we got Kerry...
a whole bunch of Republicans voted Kerry in the N.H. Dem primary to stick it to Dean.

10. Then the technique works!I was wondering how he got the nomination...
NONE of the dems I knew in Florida at the time were for Kerry. EVERYBODY was Clark or Dean, an occasional Kucinich or Graham (It was Florida). I would have been fine with either of them.

3. Check with your local Dem party before switching
In California, we get more delegates to the convention if we have more Dems registered. I live in a very liberal area so it matters that we have as many delegates as possible.

...but he is more acceptable and moderate, IMO...

14. However, why not vote for someone more acceptable?
Remember, whoever gets the nomination has a chance at being president. If you're going to do that, why not try and find someone electable? You yourself called him Ghouliani - you clearly don't respect him - why vote for him and have the chance that he will become president?

17. Whoever the GOP nominee is, I will vote against.
DO you know of some other GOPer more likely to beat Jowly than Ghouliani?

I find McCain even more unacceptable than the other two.

23. And Ron Paul would be better than the other two
I'm arguing against the idea that we can pick a candidate for the Repub nomination who will be 'unwinnable'. If anyone ever should have been unwinnable, it's Bush, and he's been president twice! Anyone who gets the nomination may win, so we have to be careful what we wish for.

11. Well, I would much rather be stuck with a President Ghouliani than a President Jowly.
So that's another reason to vote for Rudy in the primaries, right?

13. There are plenty of people ...
who do that.

I work with a person who is a registered Republican, but clearly not (his wife is registered Democrat). He likes to get their propaganda (which spends their money), to see what they are up to. He can also vote in their primaries.

Frank Zappa was a registered Democrat, even though he was very conservative (DO NOT think of todays conservative). He did this so that he could vote in the Dem primary (since there was likely to be a Democrat winner).

Cheers
Drifter

15. I'm hoping McInsane will still be in by the time of their Primary so I can vote for him.
If not I'll pick Rudy too.Romney is the biggest threat we're facing at the moment from the Right (Thompson may change that).

18. Lurking onthe RW boards, I see ZERO love for Romney.
Maybe it's because he's mormon, or because he's a yankee, but they just drool over peckerwood hogjowls.

I really don't get it, but I sure would love to disappoint them.
