Dem Mark Green says....Bushies will stretch out Investigations until '08.
Inspite of my ever hopeful Democratic Idealism....I'm starting to learn that when the Repug/Think Tank/Corporatists SPEAK....I should listen...even if I want to BELIEVE that things will be different and that we Dems will FINALLY be able to throw that CURVE BALL that throws these Criminals Off their Game....

I've learned to listen to what goes on in the paid for media. Mark Green (who used to be a flaiming liberal way back) has said....it will go to the courts and get hung up at the Supremes.

So....why bother? Aren't we just out here screaming, yelling and working against an INEVITABLE?

THEY are ALWAYS CORRECT about what's gonna' happen...and that's BECAUSE THEY KNOW!

So...why do we waste our time? Nixon Resigns/ his folks survive.....Iran Contra fails to bring down Reagan/Bush....Bush....and all is COVERED UP ...time after time after time.

We aren't going to get any Impeachment or Accountability....because it is TOO DANGEROUS TO THE STABILITY OF THE SYSTEM.

I hope I'm wrong....but I'm looking at all the times the "Paid for Media" have been correct...because they have the "inside scoop" about the way it works and we are just being played...gamed...hoodwinked...led....promised false hopes by both parties...given pretenses and scenarios that never work out for anyone but the Repug Crime Family...on and on and on. It never changes. Catch a couple of small fish but the net never gets the FISHERMAN!

2. We may be out screaming, and it may seem like for nothing,
But i believe it let's the rest of the world know we don't approve of this guy and the way he runs our country, so i don't believe it's for nothing.

Besides as i understand it, Bush can be impeached after he leaves office. So for this American, i'll keep screaming!!

3. It's Playing A Smarter Game
I feel for those who want instant change and are frustrated that change hasn't come fast enough and far enough. But a little persepctive is needed. Look at where the Democratic party has had to come in the last 10 years...and since 2002 in specific. Just think of where we stood in those dark, dark days...and where we are now. Also look at how hard this change has taken and what it will take to remove the remaining obstacles in turning this country around in a positive direction. So close, yet so far.

The Repugnicans are giving us gifts...but ones that won't arrive until 2009...and unfortunately there's precious little other than make a lot of noise right now. Democrats are still on "probation"...with thin majorities that really can't be effective without another mandate...the '08 elections. We could see a bigger Democratic majority that would provide a Democratic Preisdent the ability to make a lot of changes quickly. Sadly it will be later rather than sooner...but at least that day is possible.

The game now is to exploit the obstructionism of the Repugnicans, their enabling and supporting of an extremely unpopular tyrant and a political, military and economic situation that deteroirates by the day. The problem here isn't Democrats...Pelosi has passed a ton of stuff out of the House...it sits in the Senate...Reid's unable to move it as he doesn't have the votes to move them forward or over-ride a veto. So these votes must be set and used to wedge Repugnicans...destroy them internally and give Democrats tons of ammo to gain the 6 or so seats next year that could put the GOOP in total true backbench status...similar to what the Democrats faced in those dark days of 2002.

Cheers...

:hi:

9. Excellent Points! but..................
Edited on Mon Jul-09-07 05:58 PM by KoKo01
and inspite of what seems to be a "downbeat article" from me....you still need to know that some here have been at this "game" so long and seen ourselves "outsmarted" so much...that QUESTIONS REMAIN....

What are you DOING FOR ME NOW! Me and OTHERS with KNOWLEDGE? WHAT???

A "Smarter Game" after so many years when we've been pushed into ditch after having wheels run over us back and forth" would make one more agressive about what we face...knowing that we haven't really "won a turning point" ...that it's much farther down the road...

10. You can't squander a slim win on sound and fury
You step lightly and deadly.

(Lieberman's win made it more difficult as well.)

11. The question, though is: WHY such a SLIM WIN? We had three elections after 2000 Stolen Election...
and we APPLAUD :applause" ourselves for 2006? We had a candidate, John Kerry, who SHOULD HAVE WON by undisputable margins. He didn't.... and then theres the 2002 election where Dems were REALLY ANGRY...and we didn't win that one either...

 Something is VERY WRONG..... WHAT????

16. I agree that there is something really wrong
I also agree that Kerry probably won in 06.

Regardless, we have to play it smart until we in are a position to actually pass legislation.

I know, it's frustrating.

15. What's The Alternative?
We have to deal with the cards we're currently dealt with...and it's a shitty hand...but far better than the one we had a year ago. We were so far in the ditch, many of us had us figured for roadkill...totally irelevant. Starting with Howard Dean and the netroots, we finally were able to beging to make speak out in a common voice rather than from the fringes. We've been right on so many issues, but it hasn't been until recently we can really start to come out and push the corporate media and political monoliths to take us seriously.

Hell...I have endured 30 plus years of being demonized and characterized...seeing Democrats take out the knives on one another based more on emotion and frustration while Repugnicans put power above all and used our own principals and good intentions into major defecits. Now I see the pendulum has swung...last year's election was the first step in many that have to be made if we're ever going to salvage this country. But it's one step...there's many years and lots of ground still to be made up. But, honestly, for the first time since the post Watergate days I can see the Democrats poised to gain solid majorities and the White House...able to pass a lot of positive things. I wish it were now, I wish it were tomorrow, but at least I see something I didn't for many, many years...and surely didn't a year ago.

The turning point was last year's election...but the first of many that have to be turned. The next one will be when Repugnican obstructionism is struck down and this regime's vice on power and their criminal enterprise is broken...and then the corporate media is brought to accountability through revising legislation that gave them a such control of our airwaves and bring the diversity of the blogosphere into the "mainstream" media.

6. After 08 they are totally screwed.
No more pardoning power.

They better hope for fast convictions now
cause if they dilly-dally, they just may
end up serving full sentences.

Glorious.

up against.

to fight another day.. otherwise, the story ends..

Look around the current admin, guys.. Look at the 30-somethings who are thoroughly neck-deep in the koolaid.

I probably won't be around 30 years from now, but those same people will continue to rear their ugly heads..time and again.. in future adminsitrations..

Think the republicans are done-for? Think again..

They are experts at covering shit up, skulking away and licking their wounds...and living to fight another day..

The ONLY thing that will change this is to release ALL presidential papers on the afternoon of the day that the next administration takes over..

We deserve to know what was done in our names, and should not be in the position of having to lap up the milk of idolatry (see St. Ronnie of reagan)without ever having seen the paperwork of his administration.

If a president has done a good job, he should never fear having his work critiqued..
