That tough-talking Texan from Kennebunkport is at it again. This time he’s diggin’ in his tiny spurs and getting ready to square off against Congress in a fight over documents related to the questionable firings of federal attorneys.

According to Reuters, “Bush has adopted a legal doctrine known as executive privilege that has been occasionally invoked with mixed success throughout U.S. history to shield presidents and their aides from having to answer questions or turn over information to Congress or grand juries. White House spokesman Tony Snow brushed off the threat of a possible congressional contempt citation, saying, ‘It's up to them. What we do believe is that we are on perfectly solid legal ground.’ White House counsel Fred Fielding, in a letter to two congressional chairmen, called their demands ‘unreasonable because it represents a substantial incursion into presidential prerogatives.’ Congressional leaders disagreed, and made it clear they were prepared to battle in court -- unless they reach a compromise with the White House on access to documents and witnesses. Fielding also wrote Bush, as expected, was asserting presidential privilege to block subpoenaed testimony by two former aides, Sara Taylor and Harriet Miers.”

Sorry I haven't posted pictures - my tummy's sick tonight; feeling a bit better. No more eating at that one restaurant. Their spaghetti sauce gave me the worst case of heartburn I've ever had.

A lightening bolt hit really close to my house at 3 AM and almost threw me out of bed
from the loud and startling BOOM!! I woke up freaking out!! :scared: It even woke my
son up and that's a feat! :rofl: We had torrential rains last night and this morning.
Supposed to get more tonight, which is bad because tomorrow will be 95 degree's and
the humidity will be over 70%. That's going to make for a steamy, nasty day! :(

Beaches" on c-span a few days ago. He was taking the EPA guy to task for not having enacted the criteria in the Act passed by Congress. A very impressive woman, whose name I don't remember as I'm terrible with names :blush:, from NJ had been an advocate for cleaner beaches and clean water stated that Lautenburg had always been a friend to her group to clean things up! :thumbsup:

The kitties are doing ok. Skid had to go to the vet today, his diarrhea is back. I have to give him pills for the next two weeks. The vet gave me a pill popper, I'm hoping it'll get easier as I get used to using it. I'm not quite sure if he actually got his night dose.
