The lie claim is usually that "Joe Wilson claimed Cheney sent him" -- no Joe Wilson said the CIA sent him in response to questions they had received from Cheney

"It was a political prosecution!" -- Well the CIA asked for the investigation. And after Ashcroft recused himself, Comey who is a Republican appointed Fitzgerald (registered Independent) to continue the investigation. And Judge Walton, who is a Republican and a George Bush appointee, sentenced Libby.
