Everyone says that our congress is doing such great stuff

But how much, of substance, have passed both houses
(other than that de-nutted appropriations bill)
actually got signed into law

anyone know?

1. Do you mean has Congress ever overrided a Bush veto?
If so, there have been only three vetoes. Two on stem cells and one on war funding that included a withdrawal timetable.
None has been overrided.

3. No, I knew we hadn't over-ridden anything
But so many like to say that so much has been accomplished in 6 months

BUT

I just don't see it

Yeah, they passed a few things
but not many have actually passed into law

4. For the 110th Congress, I count 46 laws passed
Some are fairly trivial though.

6. One of the Republican talking points in 2008 is going to be that the Dems ran a do-nothing Congress
Part of that is because they haven't worked on a lot of legislation while trying to clean up Washington, and part is due to the fact tht they have been stonewalled and vetoed on some of the items they've tried to get through.

It's going to be interesting to see how it all plays out.
