What are the stances of the major democratic candidates on gay rights?
I'm currently living overseas and have only a very slow internet connection, otherwise I'd look this up myself. I just read in the latest edition of the Economist that Hillary has voted against gay marriage bills in the past. Is this true? What are the views of Obama et al? Is there a good (hopefully fairly streamlined) site that compares the candidates on the issues?

Thanks.

2. Generally good (as long as it doesn't require actually *DOING* anything), but...
All of their stances on gay rights are generally good
(as long as it doesn't require them actually *DOING*
anything or taking any bold stands), but according
to the Human Rights Campaign, only Kucinich and Gravel
support full gay marriage; the rest of the candidates
are on record as opposing that.

3. As usual Dennis Kucinich is the only candidate that will take a stand.
The others are paying lip-service in the hopes that the GLBT community will vote for them in spite of being constantly betrayed.

4. Okay
But that is easier when you know you have no chance of being elected. Sorry, Dennis is a good guy and perhaps Congressman, but not presidential material, IMO.

Well, if ending the war, and starting universal health care,
and full support for gay rights and women's rights and human
rights in general, and earning a decent day's pay for a decent
day's work are not important for you, then I guess you're right:
Dennis isn't your candidate.

7. Dennis
Dennis isn't my candidate because I have met him, I think he is weird, and I think he is unelectable. I have met other candidates who - as a gay man - I am very comfortable in supporting. And I would vote for any of our potential nominees over any potential republican.

6. sadly, its a marginalizing issue and the best they will do is say they are ok with gay people
very few will actually be brave enough to come out openly in support of rights such as marriage.
