Right Wing Watch - Dinesh D'Souza supports Cindy Sheehan's run
Edited on Tue Jul-10-07 08:41 AM by bryant69
Take this for what you will, D'Souza (who's latest book is entitled "The Enemy at Home: The Cultural Left and Its Responsibility for 9/11" to give you an idea of his mentality) has written an article supportive of Cindy Sheehan's run against Nancy Pelosi. http://www.townhall.com/Columnists/DineshDSouza/2007/07/10/run,_cindy_sheehan,_run!

"Now we hear that activist Cindy Sheehan is threatening to challenge Nancy Pelosi for her congressional seat. Sheehan says that if Pelosi doesn't begin impeachment proceedings against Bush very soon, she's going to run. “Democrats and Americans feel betrayed by the Democratic leadership,” Sheehan fumes. “We hired them to bring an end to the war.”

. . . Ordinarily I'd laugh off Cindy Sheehan's threat to take on Pelosi, but Pelosi represents the San Francisco area and there are just enough kooks in that district who might make Sheehan a serious candidate. I'd like to see Sheehan use some of her trademark bile on Pelosi. It's my favorite kind of brawl: the left vs. the far left. Run, Cindy, run!
"

He also references the noble run of Ralph Nader in 2000 as an example of the Far Left screwing things up for the Left (his terms).

10. Gunga Dim has a talent for this...remember HE was the first one...
who brought up the notion that the 9/11 hijackers were not cowards on that notorious episode of "Politically Incorrect" Maher then took the bait and as a result ABC canceled the show.
He's an insidious little bastard.

Edited on Tue Jul-10-07 09:43 AM by DemocratSinceBirth
Bob Dole used that chestnut on Walter Mondale in the 1976 vice presidential elections...

I have no personal animus toward Ms. Sheehan and appreciate the enormity of loss but she has pretty much turned into a caricature of herself now...

22. OK calling us the party of Slavery is clearly over the top.
I'm not going to deny that; on the other hand we need to grapple with why such arguments seem to make sense to a certain percent of our membership, and by extension the liberals in America.

24. Point One: Don't get too excited, Dinesh. Pelosi's seat is safe. Point Two: WHY isn't it okay to ask
what motivates "them" to hate us if we're talking about, say, support for autocratic regimes or exploitation of natural resources (i.e. oil) ... but it's okay for Dinesh D'Souza to rail against porn, pot smoking, equal rights for gays and other "cultural degeneracy" as the reason "they" hate us?

Hey D'Souza- we need MORE porn, more pot-smokin' hippies, more equal rights for gays, more naked breasts on satellite TV.... to drive the mullahs and repressed fundy nutjobs up the wall. If not, the terrorists WIN!
