I just got off the phone...
...with someone from the national Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. It was fun. He was a very nice man, and he started in with the spiel with wanting to get a greater Democratic majority next time around.

I told him that I agree completely with that goal. But I said that at the moment I cannot contribute any money. I want them to fight harder. I want them to impeach the criminals in the Bush regime, and to push to get ALL of our troops out of Iraq NOW, not SOME of them out sometime in 2008.

He said he's been hearing these sentiments from a lot of people -- and he said he agreed with everything I said!

I asked him to please, please pass it along to the people in charge! I also told him that I will give online when I can, to those candidates who are fighters. And I reiterated a couple of times that when voting time comes, you bet I'll be voting a straight Democratic ticket.

It was very gratifying to hear him say he's been hearing this from others, and that he agrees with it! I think we're making inroads, folks -- not only did we manage to squeak by to a majority in 2006, but people are actually getting pissed off enough to tell our Democrats to FIGHT!

Just had to share.

1. Good for you.
I called my county councilman today to complain about a forced vote-by-mail they are cramming down my throats, and managed to get in a swipe at the Diebold voting machines they just bought, and even though they didn't seem to take my points on the other issues, they were definitely aware of the Diebold issue.

8. I recently stopped
my contributions to the DNC, choosing instead to give to individuals. There are too many dems who disgust me and I don't want a single cent of my money going to them. All of the "play nice" dems who won't do anything to push the people's agenda forward need to get out.

11. This is the DSCC, a completely different animal from the DNC.
They gave alot of support to Lieberman against Lamont in the CT primary. They frequently side in the primaries against candidates I support, generally the more progressive ones. I will always give to individual candidates rather than to the DSCC.

4. I received a questionnaire from the DLC, filled it out and returned it.

However, in that little box where you indicate how much you are contributing I wrote a very tasteful note indicating it was like "deja vu all over again." I had voted for an approach to drawing back the troops in Iraq, which has not been done. When the list of things I had voted for are completed or at the very least, in the works, I shall be happy to contribute to my candidate directly.....

6. Thank you for expressing your opinion, and by doing so, you represented
many of us who feel the same way as well.

Someone is going to be the one who makes it happen. Someone is going to express their opinion, and their tally mark for impeachment/getting the troops out NOW will be the one that finally gets the job done.

It's a joint effort, but you never know which call is going to be the lucky one.

I also find it comforting that this same sentiment is being expressed frequently. Hopefully it won't fall on deaf ears.

9. They called me a couple of days ago
I told the caller that I would not give one slim dime until impeachment is back on the table.
When that happens, I will open my wallet and gleefully give you everything in it.

It was a frendly converstion.
I believe I was understood.

10. We got a call the other day. Husband told the guy the same thing.
They can't have it both ways. They have to frickin' stand up and fight for the people.

13. We didn't squeak by in 06. But for the machines it would have been a huge landslide

15. I don't doubt it...
...but was discussing based on the results, which were a thin majority in the House and an even thinner majority in the Senate.

Yes, the voting machines have been a terrible blow to our ability to have free and fair elections, and I believe they have been used to steal elections, no doubt in my mind.
