14. McConnell just shut up
they will get those 60 votes if more of those stupid repigs go with the Democrats on this, I think this is what the Dems are hoping for, and for more repigs to jump off the ship and go with the Dems.

50. Harry on TV now: Press conference. Selling Levin-Reid.
"We've already been told several republicans are with us. Sounds like a majority to me."
"Hard for me to believe that a funding bill for the troops won't go forward."
"The republican minority is so envious, that they obstruct everything. We're going to make sure this passes."
"If they obstruct everything we're going to make sure the american people know what they're doing."

20. ah
I heard somebody mention 15 months - I thought that was hard coded. Guess not.

it also prohibits any reserve unit from being redeployed within 3 years.

52. Let's see if I can remember
It was a thing that Frist and the repuke majority "thought" up when they were worried about the dems fillibustering shrubs judicial nominees.

Basically a fillibuster requires 60 votes to stop but Frist had an idea to pass a motion that would make the fillibuster no longer an option for nominees. This motion would only take a simple majority and so would ban the fillibuster.

I think the nuclear option is idiotic now for the same reason I did then, it assumes that you're party is going to be the majority forever and as the pukes found out to our great enjoyment there is no such thing as a permanent majority and the nuclear option will come back and bite you on the ass.

It would be a lot of fun to see the pukes go nuts if Harry Reid brought up the option though, even as a joke.

49. Republicans are for enforced military servitude.
Webb is brilliant...he knows that this eviscerates the Republican argument. There aren't enough troops to sustain our occupation in Iraq if this is implemented. But this will absolutely destroy the Republicans to vote against giving our soldiers a break.
