Cons: Baghdad is no worse than Detroit or Los Angeles
Hey, can any residents of Detroit or Los Angeles tell me how many mortars fell in the safest parts of their cities today?

2. Its a little windy here in Detroit right now
Edited on Tue Jul-10-07 03:32 PM by Az
But no mortars and I am pretty certain I could take a walk around my neighborhood without any strife.

On Edit: And I just returned from a vacation trip to LA and didn't have any problems there either. Course where I was there were a lot of people dressed in funny costumes. But thats an anime convention for ya.

3. Here in LaLa land we even have electricity and running water 24/7,
not to mention a refreshing lack of bodies turning up tortured and shot in the head.

Clearly this is the Rethugs playing to the hicks suspicious of them city folk.

4. We've got bombs going off in New York today...

5. I HATE that arguement... He's how to 'difuse' it
When they claim Baghdad is 'as safe' or 'safer' than an American city, they will cite a number. Look, we only lost 60 troops this month, there are than many murfers in Washington and New York. But they are comparing apples and mangos. The troops are over there protecting a city. What if 50 POLICE OFFICERS died in NYC??? What if we had 3600+ dead POLICE over the course of 4 years?

Jeesus, these people are fucking idiots!

7. And it's another example of Iraqis just not counting;
No one really knows precisely about Iraqi casualities (although it's a hell of a lot more than 60-100 a month), and no one in the government or media seems to care.
