I hope they gave him an earful. It looks like maybe they did.

9. Possibly they forgot to pre-screen the troops for "loyal Bushies?"
He probably should have had the non-believers removed from the plane on stretchers, so as not to burst his bubble.

7. What's up with his visiting the troops so much, lately?
Guilty conscience?

When they transport them home, though, the majority of them are quite heavily medicated. It makes the trip more comfortable for them, especially the most seriously wounded or those with wounds that cause a lot of nerve pain and so forth.

A number of them probably thought they were having a nightmare when he turned up to leer at them.

Get a load of the aircrew--I get the sense they're a smoking/joking cadre who are "less than impressed" with the Monkey. They sure aren't lined up, braced at full attention, as he stumbles out the aircraft door, are they???

Sure looks fucked up to me. I love how the crew is just like "fuck this joker let's cut out early for the O club."

17. Ben Is Getting Ready To Visit In A Few Weeks
After he gets discharged. He is so sick and tired of waiting on hold at 29 Palms. Peyton and I are hanging on, we still haven't recovered from fuck dog the home wrecker and his parting shot to us in Sicily but we are safe and I am moving on with my life.

I'll post pictures of Ben and the rest of the family when he gets up here to NO CA.

And I gotta say, I'm glad you and Peyton got off island, even if it was a tough haul to make it happen. To hell with bums who behave badly and give you grief--life is too damned short. You move on, as we all know you can, and you live well--it's the best revenge, after all!

16. He was probably on his way out or back from Andrews, saw the
transport, and made one of those Pretzle-duncial decisions....

The large aircraft probably impressed him...seeing as he didn't spend too much time around military aircraft, of the logistics, transport, fighter, attack or trainer variety, when he was in uniform....!

20. You're imagining that Bush decided on his own to make a spontaneous visit?
Highly doubtful. When has he ever made a decision on his own? When have they let him?

21. Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. I'm saying he was either boarding or
disembarking from AF1 or USMC1 out at Andrews, saw the transport coming in, and made an 'Executive Decision' to go aboard. "Lookie the big plane--there's servicemembers on that thang? Lemme see!!!"

It's pretty clear to me that the crew of that transport didn't have this little visit all planned out--they wouldn't be standing around scratching and chatting if that were the case; they'd be lined up smartly--their boss would have made sure of it.

I'm betting the Service went aboard, kicked all but the nurses and maybe one guy in the cockpit off, "secured the area" and on went the Monkey--unannounced, to poke around. The reason he's got that pissy look on his face while disembarking is probably because most of the passengers were pretty well drugged to reduce their discomfort during transport. He didn't get to give them much 'cheer' because they were out like a light and drooling (a condition no doubt familiar to the Monkey...).

22. In the photo of him boarding the plane the crew isn't even around.
Looks like they (sort of) lined up while he was inside. But I have a hard time believing he (1) recognized what the plane was, and (2) opted to make the visit on his own. It just doesn't compute. If it's not scripted he doesn't do it. Unless he's finally losing his marbles, which has been a long time coming anyway.

23. Here's how it might have gone down.
He goes everywhere with a military aide, a senior individual, and also a field grader who hangs on to the football.

Monkey says to the military aide: Whut's thet big plane over thar taxi-in this way?

Aide: It's a military transport bringing the wounded back from the theater to Walter Reed.

Monkey: No Shit? I wanna go have a look-see.

Aide calls tower, tower calls aircraft, SS boards and does a fast check, everyone stands by for Monkey to embark.

25. Heh, I;m actually envisioning him coming off Marine One on the way to AF One
and seeing the transport a/c taxiing into position.

They park them out at Andrews not far from where they keep Monkey's a/c, because they want to shield the servicmembers from the view of those pesky photographers who want to document the cost of war.

It's plausible that he'd see the a/c, and he likely couldn't miss it--they're a good size. If the thing was shutting down as he landed, it would be natural for him to want to go over and play on one of his DOD toys...

15. I wonder if the troops were kept waiting on the plane for him?
Do you think they held them on the runway until he got there? He was out to lunch earlier, you know.
